Jeah! I've been using Lumia 800 for some time now and I'm pretty happy with it. I just recently took a mobile recognizion certificate to it and during that process I happened to win a prize... a Lumia 900 handset.
I've done rather lot of "interior decorating", software purchasing and ...with one word personalizing my 800-set
and now I have to find out a "best practises"-way of migrating from 800 to 900. Is there a best pracises -kind of way figured out already or do I have to just take the normal "trial and error" -method in use?
What is the best way to migrate from Lumia 800 to Lumia 900?

Note sure if it is the best way but this is what I would do.
First thing to note is Zune backups are device specific and as such is of no use to you when migrating to another phone.
For contacts you should just backup it up to your Live account and just use the same Live ID with the new phone.
For apps, you can always reinstall from the Marketplace. Paid apps are associated with your Live ID so as long as you use the same ID, you won't have to pay again.

Yes. I've noticed that this Zune PC application is total waste of time and effort. Most of the contents are feasible to transfer through LiveID account. I didn't know that this licensing is glued to the account rather than this handheld unit. That was a piece of good information for me.
I've been forced to change PC with win8 to another physical gadget and there it worked much better with applications. According to the liveID account it started to reinstall my apps one by one in the background until they all were done. Something like this could be expected here too.
I also wonder why there are user friendly apps for migrating from "enemy" ranks into Lumia phones, but if someone wants to be Nokia loyal customer and buy a better phone... there is nothing to be offered here. That loyalty should be rewarded rather than discouraged as it is now.
Anyway, thanks for you hints.
