Hi, I've recently purchased a Lumia 820.  

I cannot change the music volume at all.  If I try to change the volume with the buttons on the side of the phone as directed in the "how to" guide then nothing happens.  The ringer volume changes, but the music does not.

have you tried performign the resets detailed here on these forums? try performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates), or if that doesn't work, then a hard reset (Settings >About>reset your phone). please remember that hard reset wipes all your personal data, so you will need to back up all your personal data to PC and / or online storage first.

Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect: http://nokia.com/support

i am not able to do soft reset..tried doing it..volume goes down..and "SLIDE DOWN TO POWER OFF" message comes..

@manutyagi - you are supposed to do the soft reset while your phone is switched OFF. switch it off, and then try the key combination. Hope it helped
