Re: NFC

Have you tried turning your phone off and on again, and made sure that NFC is turned on in Settings > Tap + send? if this still isn't working, then you may need to perform a soft reset on your phone, which is achieved by pressing the volume down and power buttons together for five seconds. You will not lose any data.

Also not sure how much the C7 supports in NFC, but if it isn't already updated to the latest firmware version that is available for it (NFC support was enabled in Symbian Anna, latest update is Nokia Belle Refresh), then to update it to make sure you have the latest NFC support for your device.

Re: NFC

I don't see in the manual saying that it is limited by the wp8 to wp8.

only that the other device needs to also have nfc.

I could not get it to work with a gs3 either. I think there is a problem with the software on the nfc. cant get it to work with connecting anything on my end. still have to manually connect Bluetooth.

I did get it to work with my nokia360 1 time. I had to start a song first and then try to connect and it worked....but only that one time.

just fyi....not new to nfc. worked flawlessly on all of my n9 devices and gs3.

nfc is not a nokia thing it is an industry thing. so I hope there is a software fix for this.

Re: NFC

@ceroberts75
I have tried to transfer a picture using nfc between Lumia 920 and Nokia C7,my bro's 701 and also my N9.....it is not working so I guess sharing works only between two windows phone 8 devices only.

Re: NFC

Ok. Duh.

Tried it between my 8x and 920.

It worked but had to create the connection with Bluetooth first.

So it works wp8-wp8

Re: NFC

[ Edited ]

We we're able to successfully connect C7-00 and Lumia 920 using NFC, so I do not think it is limited to WP8 devices only.

You need to make sure that NFC chips on each phone are placed closely together. Positioning of NFC on each phone can be seen here:

Nokia C7 - http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_C7-00_UG_en.pdf - page 8

Lumia 920 - The NFC area is on the back of your phone, near the camera.

If still the same, you can try to pair each phone to other devices which supports NFC just to isolate where the issue is.
