You can use Nokia Software Updater for Retail 2.0.6 to update your fw (you will lose all your personal data, so make a back up, before updating)
Hi jaripi,
Please can you clarify what this new FW will fix? It wasn't clear in your post.
For the record my current phone is still working perfectly in every respect 9 days after being exchange by EE.
The OS vesrions is: 8.0.10211.204
FW 1232.5951.1249.1018
Radio sotware version 1.0.202075.3
Chip SOC version 8960
IMEI 35414905494xxxx
I hope this can be of assistance in narrowing down the problem but my advice to everyone suffering this freeze issue is to go back to your supplier and insist on a replacement handset.

Mine now 4 days without any issues with the new firmware.

It seems that a new fw (1232.5957.1308.00xx) will fix freezing (turn off) ... just like "hulkkii" told too ...

Thought id sign up to let you know my experience.
My first Lumia 920 seemed to brick itself first time round when I initiated a wipe, stuck on cogs forever, the sudden freezing of the device brought me on to do this...granted I had plenty off apps installed.
Exchange was sent out next day (very good service no questions asked)
replacement STRAIGHT out the box froze after 2 minutes, no apps, no nothing installed and over the past 2 days has continued to do so at least 8 times a day. To add it nicely sets itself back to 2010-2012 so my phone wont recieve/send texts or emails, absolute pain.
Now having another replacement sent out tomorrow for exchange, lets hope this one finally works if there are updates and patches being released...
I really love this phone, I just wish it would actually work...

920 on ATT here. When I checked the Phone Update from the phone and it wasn't able to pick up this update yet. Anyone on ATT that was able to pick up this fw update?

It is not released yet. Only new handsets will come with it out of the box and possibly handsets which have been repaired by Nokia Care. There has been no announcement about general OTA release.

Bought a Lumia 920 for my wife in mid december 2012. She has so far only experienced one freeze situation. I have had my Lumia 920 for one week now, and it has already frozen three times.
I can see both in this forum and on lots of other places on the net that this is a hot topic, and I wonder why Nokia does not comment on it. It is fine that we as users can discuss and exchange experiences through different forums, but when one specific problem occurs and is discussed this often, it is totally unacceptable that Nokia does not address the situation!
I have not heard of any other phone that freezes this often, and even though I have been very happy with Windows Phone 7 / 7.5 / 7.8 on my previous phone (an HTC Trophy) I do not feel happy now with my Nokia Lumia 920 when it behaves like this!

How are you guys getting replacements? Nokia just sends me the phone right back.

Hi amdhunter,
Don't send it to Nokia, Call your service provider or go to whoever sold you the phone. In my case it was EE support in the UK. They sent me a new handset by courier who also picked up the defective one so I was not without a phone. The new one has run perfectly without a freeze for 17 days so far.

Where can I find this Firmware release to update it manually?
2013-03-26 14:39
Still no freeze after one week, so I can confirm the New firmware fixed the problem for me.
It also solved my problem with auto brightness and proximeter sensor being to sensetive.

@roohan - have you tried a software update? If no, just check here, maybe will help you

Looks like ATT now has the update. I installed it this morning and it seems to have resolved the problem related to the proximity sensor. I hope it resolves the problem with device freezing. Fingers crossed. I might actually be able to recommend this phone once these two issues are fixed.
