Nokia Lumia 920 restarts randomly

I got my phone on friday last week and since the it restarted every morning at random time. It turns off and back on, I didn't loose any files, but the sim card is blocked and people can't call me then. What can be the problem? I have the newest software, use the original charger, battery etc.

Phone turns off without any massage, vibration or else, when it turns on I get the default starting screen and the phone asks me for pin and works normaly afterwards.

Hope that somebody can help me.

Best regards, and thanks in the advance.

Check the sim to make sure it is properly seated in the tray and the tray is firmly inserted into the slot. Next thing to try would be another sim. See how you get on. Does the phone feel hot to touch after it restarts?

Re: Nokia Lumia 920 restarts randomly

I tried removing the sim and putting one layer of paper underneath, just to make sure it don't move. Now that you mention it I remember I've had problem with sim 5 or 6 years back with other phone. I will tell if it helps after two or three days.

Thanks

Re: Nokia Lumia 920 restarts randomly

If possible mate, I would get a new microSIM altogether and try that, ensure that the SIM is cut correctly, or a proper microSIM and not just a normal SIM cut to microSIM size haphazardly. See how you go from there.

If you are still having issues, try performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates).

Would pay to check the Settings as well, to ensure that you have thigns you are not using turned off, that may drain the battery (such as WiFi / NFC / Location services / frequence of email sync).....and also ensure that you have updated to the latest versions of Nokia apps in the Nokia collection in the Store......most importantly things like Network +, Extras and Info, Access Point etc, as these have brought improvements in the last couple of weeks.

If you are still having issues, I suggest performing a hard reset (by going into Settings > About > Reset your phone).....remember to perform a backup of all your personal data onto your PC first / online cloud service such as SkyDrive.

Failing that, you will need to take your phone back to your point of purchase, and they may give you a replacement. IF they are being less than helpful, then you will need to visit your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect: http://nokia.com/support

Though the Soft Reset wouldn't harm.. you should have checked only with the New SIM first to ascertain whether that WAS the problem..

... or you had to do the Soft Reset as new SIM didn't solve the issue on its own ?
