Hi just a update
I have looked at the Phone again and i myself are conviced this Phone text size is to small for a normal user
Both on my Nokia 701 and every other Phone you can alter the Text Size
I feel so bad about this as I recomended my Friend to Stay with Nokia as she wanted a good camera She is now left with a phone were she has to use a magnifying glass to use the text as shop will not change it
Surly Nokia must be aware about all the Complaints " and the seem thousands of them " even on the Windows site.
Come on Nokia take notice of the remining customers you have left !
Due to this and other issues when my Nokia 701 fails and i can not find a Used N8 I will leaving Nokia seem a shame as I have at least 5 nokia phone over 12 years
I have tried to complian to Nokia but ther on line form is only about repairs

There is a small number of people, thousands is a serious overrated number, I doubts it's a hundred individuals. on the boards and that is a very minute percentile of the total number of WP7.x users..
And honestly, while I agree the text is small it's hardly unreadable, unless your short range vision needs a pair of glasses.

Yes I have the same issue & for sure its not easy to read a contacts phone number.
As you say why is it not in the same size font as Call Mobile & as its so small its easy to make a mistake.
The keyboard font could also be bigger again to avoid the many mistakes that happen.
BTW the phone is updated to 7.8
So Nokia it is an issue for us (and I fancy many more) and of course the bulk of the population do not have 20/20.

For those who do not have 20/20 vision someone invented glasses.
WP7.x does not and will not support sizable fonts. If you want that go for WP8 or elsewhere..

Well, as this is a core OS thing there is only one party able to do anything about it if it were possible to change and that would not be Nokia. So I'd suggest you talk to Microsoft.
But I doubt you'll get anywhere with this. It's a personal and relatively minor point which if at all on the list will be way at the bottom.

@ paulheu
Not really a minor point being able to read whats on the phone, and although its MS OS still a Nokia phone and as such they should be the one telling MS what they should put in the OS for its costumers. I was very pleased with my 800 when I got it, but as I used it more and more it as turned into the most dissapointing phone I have ever brought because of all these little things. The phone is being advertives as a personal phone for every one so long as you dont mind your phone sounding the same as everybody elses ( none customizable alert tones ), a font that people who dont have perfect vision can read, if you dont mind sending off to the cloud just to sync with you PC at home ( which could be illegal in some countries under data protection ) and there are many more things, the callender has many things wrong with it and before you say it, it could not have been possible to find out all these faults before buying the phone, how many hours do you think the shop is going to let you play with the phone before you buy?

As far as security goes syncing data to the cloud is more secure then suncing to your PC at home which stands a better chance of getting stolen. Also if you must post speculative or possibly liable comments better be sure you can back them up with sources. Please let us know which countries would prohibit using the cloud, a secure, encrypted storage medium. Guess these countries also do not allow the use of BB, iPhone and Android then.. Oh wait, they do not allow Internet in general..
If you have trouble with your eye sight you get a pair of glasses. I'll agree that the fonts on Windows Phone can be small, but are hardly 'unreadable'.
Calendar is just fine for me, syncs all my different calendars fro, both hotmail, outlok and google. Have no problem setting up recurring events, I get a notification as requested and the information I need right on my lockscreen. Would not know what else I would need,
If Windows Phone is not for you, fine. Get over it and get a phone you do feel suits your needs. But the arguments are really about basic and fundamental issues which some posters here are well aware can't be fixed in the discussed version of WP. Rehashing these over and over, hijacking threads to make the same point over and over and asking for what you know is not here is not going to change anything.
There will always be a small minority having something to b*tch about.. That's life and it ain't going to change. Funny thing is the same ppl seem to need to butt their heads in and start the argument over every single thread they can..
This thread is on the WP7.x phone Fontsize.
Fact:
It's not changeable and it won't be changeable.. Either get over it or move on is your options here..

@paulheu
Please read my post again as it seems you may have miss something, for one never said it is illegal I said could be and as for being secure I except that big companies have the recourses to use much better security than is available to a home user like myself, but they are also more likely to be a target than my little home PC as with 100's of thousands of other peoples data if not millions of data on it, so a far more lucrative target, which as already happened to these so called secure companies. Sony, Face book to name just two. For the calendar there are quite a few things I've been able to do with my last two nokia's that my 800 is not able to do at the moment and as I said these phone are being sold as a phone for everyone, well as it currently stands I will not be changing to one of the new windows 8 phones unless some of these thing are altered. As for making a remark about me getting glasses I've been unfortunate to have to wear glasses from the age of eight so have regular eye test to ensure my glasses are correct for my eyes, but the font for personal data on the phone is unnecessarily small, there is plenty of wasted space so a bigger font would just my things a little easier, as you can see from other post it is a problem for many people. I believe you can now select a larger font on windows 8 so either Nokia listened or MS did. last thing isn’t this forum here for fellow Nokia user to help each other rather than make unkindly remarks about them, I’m happy that the phone suits your needs fine but some folks have found a few issues with the phone and are here asking for help or just to let the power that be, that maybe some things need changing or features adding and as you said yourself they will never please everybody but I hope they do read these post and try to help as many people as they can.
I will not post again in this thread as I have made my point in the previous post and this is not helping anyone now. all the best to you paulheu.

Thanks for comments 1
As for this site I have been a member and Nokia User for years and was under the impression that it was for people to seek help and for Nokia to see what problems and coments were been made about there products and if any improvements could be made.
As for you comment about contacting Microsofr This is a Nokia product sold and marketed by Nokia and up i to them sort the problems out and instruct Microsoft to as to what they require as without Nokia there would not be any windows Phones. "
It a bit liking telling anbody with a Samsung or Sony Phone to contact Google
So I rest my case.

My thoughts as well. Mr OddJob.
Just looking at the phone now & Call mobile/text etc are quite easy to read, but the blue font on the contacts number is a third of the size, as is the font for mail address etc.
You are correct in saying that there appears to be plenty of room on the screen to increase the font size & changing the colour of the font may help as well ?
I also have worn spectacles for all my life & am now on varifocals to aid reading and as such can read most things easily unless they are to small to read quickly & easily !
Now that is not to much to ask from a company such as Nokia (is it not) and for me to enjoy what I consider to be an excellent piece of kit (like Nokia Drive)

I have had the same problem with contacts mainly reading the phone numbers, I have found a brilliant app called BIG PHONEBOOK its free! Problem solved for now!

Well today I had reason to check a phone number to give to someone else & as it was in daylight I had (as usual) a good deal of trouble reading the tiny font.
So lets ask all the other people sitting at the table (another 6) if they could read it ?, all found it very hard to read the blue font & only one other was wearing spectacles apart from myself, but having said that we were all over 40 years of age.
Ah ! ...... just passing were a couple of younger people who also had modern phones (not Nokias) so I asked them thier opinion about the font size as they frowned to also read the silly font blue line & they were not impressed either !

A simple app to view your contacts without having to squint to see the numbers. Has easy features for sharing contact information and making calls and texts straight from the app.
