Possible to sync Lumia 920 with Windows Media Player?

I'm trying to discover the best way to tranfser music from Windows XP to my Lumia 920.

Via drag/drop in Windows Explorer it worked, however some albums were wrongly displayed on the Lumia. An album having various artist showed some artists seperately listed in the Album list on the phone. Quite annoying.

Is it also possible to sync through WMP? I have version 11 on XP, but it shows no connected device, though in Explorer the Lumia is available.

Are the ID3 tags on these tracks set up correctly?

Re: Possible to sync Lumia 920 with Windows Media Player?

I did change the songs' tags, but look into it again.

Concerning WMP...van it be used for album transfer as well?

Thanks.

Re: Possible to sync Lumia 920 with Windows Media Player?

Ok, I did some changes on the id3 tags, changed all the 'Album' and 'Album artist' names to the same name, but still about 4 out of the 21 album songs were displayed as a seperate album.

I found out it had to do with the setting 'Connection to Xbox music' being ON and the app getting info through the internet connection. Weird enough it also created the 4 seperate albums after completely deleting the ID3 tag of those 4 songs...

What is the difference when playing music via 'Nokia Music' and what when using 'Music and Video's?

no difference at all mate, if you run Nokia Music and start playing music from your offline collection that is stored on your phone, you will see the exact same progress in the Music + Video player.
