I just switched to the lumia 800 for few days the ringtone was working properly but for past 2 days the ringtone automatically stops playing after 1 or 2 sec when a call rings especially when the phone is kept flat against any table, bed or hand. Can someone kindly help me out with the problem.

Did you try any other ringtone ? If that plays well, revert to the one that has started giving the problem and check again ..

I tried with different tones but the problem still persists.

It feels like those samsung wave phones where if u want to silent the incoming call u just flip it over on the surface and it silents itself but i have found no such setting on the lumia

Yeh ! No such feature on the Lumias yet .. Did you try Rebooting the device. If it doesn't solve the next step will be to go for a Soft Reset and see if that makes any difference ..

Phone on table face up or down or does it make a difference?
