I have a list of things that i really LOVED on my Nokia 5800 that i would like either Nokia or MSFT to fix or send an update for on my new Lumia920:
1- When you turn the volume down for either music or a video, the volume for the phone ringtone goes down as well. The volume for the ringtone must not be linked or should be controlled within the ringtone sub-setting option.
2- The WiFi must only connect when i launch the app that needs it. OR if the app has a "live tile" feature, it should ask me if i want the WiFi to stay connected for that app.
3- BRING THE T9 KEYBOARD BACK. i loved the option for the alpha newmeric keyboard on my 5800. Please bring it on this device.
4- In order to save battery, i usually turned my Nokia 5800 off at night. but since i had an alarm set up to wake me up in the morning, the device would automatically turn on or wake up to set off the alarm. Since the battery on my Lumia920 is really bad, i turned it off at night but the alarm didnt go off in the morning so i missed work!!!
5- Your YouTube app, isnt really an app at all. it takes me to m.youtube.com which i can do just on the IE browser!! there was a dedicated YouTube app on my Nokia 5800. Why did you leave it out on this "flagship" Nokia920?
6- The media library dosent turn when holding the device on ladscape!! I cut a piece in my dash to install this device while driving, the holder is landscape and i look like a retard going through my media library looking at it it sideways!! its embarasing!
i have a few other pointers which i will post later. I would really like someone to actually read this and get back to me. Also i would like other users to post their response if they have a fix or if they have similar tiny problems with their Nokia920 which turn out to be a HUGE inconvenience!
Thanks!

Use Airplane mode as just re-booting device consumes more power than leaving over-night in this state.
As regards YouTube then PrimeTube is just one example of third party application:http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/primet

I always plug any smartphone in to charge over night. None of the Android, iOS or WP devices I've had have lasted a full days use when starting with a less than half full battery. If you relied on your 920 to wake you when it was low on battery when you went to bed, then that is - no offence - just silly.
I have a fat-boy charging pillow by my bed which I use every night before I sleep.
Secondly, do you honestly expect us to believe that you cut into your dashboard in order to look at your media collection in landscape mode BEFORE you tried to look at your media collection in landscape mode? Please. Yes, I wouldn't mind a landscape mode when swiping through albums, but it's not that big of a bother for me.
Agree on the volume issue.
I'll pass on T9.
Right now, the Wifi disconnects itself when the screen goes off. When the screen comes on, you can specify whether you want the wifi to be used every 15 minutes, 30 mins etc, or - like I do - instant notifications. How would you expect an app to know when to tell the system when to connect with wifi, if the system can't connect to tell you that the app needs to give you a notification/update etc ?!
YouTube? Meh, happy enough that I can watch the vids, used to use Metro tube which was better, but please understand that it is not Nokia or MS who makes the official YouTube app, it's Google.

first, Thanks everyone for replying to my post and for taking time to read through my rant.
regarding youtube "app" in the store, the YouTube app is released by Nokia.
yes i agree, the full size website works fine but i liked the app format (its a personal preference i guess)
Yes, i already had a notch in my car where i had previously installed a Nokia 770 many years ago. so i would have liked it to be able to receive my Lumia 920. i need to get pictures to show you guys.... (mental point made)
yes, this is my first "smart" phone persay but my 5800 did everything i wanted it to do (open documents, email, youtube, nokia maps, ..... ) and still had excellent battery life. so i guess the difference in battery life had me all spoilt and i was expecting something better on the lumia 920.
as for the wifi turning off when the screen is off, can i disable that because that is just messing with my whatsApp. i dont know if any you guys use that app but its supposed to be push texts and the lumia's incontinuous WiFi is kindda missing the point.

The Portico 1.1 Update will be released shortly. Amongst other fixes, it will give you the choice to keep Wifi connected when the screen goes off which will address your WhatsApp issue.
Nokia cannot make a YouTube app, it belongs to Google - so Nokia have done the only thing possible at this time - create an app which directs you to the Google YouTube site. As mentioned, try MetroTube - it's way better than the current YouTube app, but still Google are being a pain to the MetroTube developers - not sure how things stand.
As for battery life, chack you have the latest update for Nokia Drive - it's a known issue that it gobbles up battery unless closed down. Of course, the reason the elder Nokias lasted longer battery wise, was that they didn't run the current powerful processors, huge screens and so on. I still manage a day and a half of average use on my 920 though, and again the Portico update will improve on that.

will look forward to that update. no youtube app isnt by nokia, its by Microsoft Corporation.
One more thing, how can i fix my "region" for the store? some apps i cant install because of my region.
Is there a way for changing that?
thanks again for all of your comments and advise.

The best YouTube app for Windows Phone is not by Nokia or Microsoft.
You can't fix your region. If you move you will have to get it changed using an Xbox or an app which is supposed to be released halfway January. The process may take 6 weeks to complete. As this is not related to Nokia in any way I suggest you talk to Microsoft about this if you need to.

Yeah, live tiles are very flakey. Generally slow to update and/or intermittantly not updating.
Frankly you could turn the 6 point list at the start of this thread into a 100 points list of *very basic* problems with the new lumias. I'd guess it was rushed to production with little time for user testing. Or Nokia simply don't have the power to make Microsoft fix anything in the OS.
Endless basic niggling problems, coupled with extremely poor battery life and terrible app selection make these phones a poor choice. I just wish I could have read comments like mine before I paid for one. Not all Nokia's fault I'm sure, but that's the reality of the situation. Summary: Looks good, doesn't work.

On the subject of live tiles. Does anyone else's people hub tile just show the same 15 - 20 friend pics over and over again, despite having 100s of contact pics in the hub?
I think live tiles has real promise, and could be (probably will be) good in the future. For now they're just big icons.

Nah, I tested that. It doesn't seem to update with recent interaction history. Seems to pick a small subset of images and sticks with it until a) a phone reboot, b) unpin & repin of people hub. But perhaps it changes the set itself after a few days or weeks.

Nokia, please bring back T9 keyboard. Make your own and not rely on microsoft because Nokia phones of old had the best predictive text. Make this exclusive to Nokia phones please. QWERTY keyboards are stupid. surely, it can't be that hard for Nokia to put it in their phones.
