Re: USB OTG support for lumia series...

Hi 00piyush,

Lumia does not support USB on the go, and as for future updates of this, we currently do not have any information on it.

As an alternative, you can save your files onto Skydrive and access them through Hotmail. I realise this may not be the best option because it requires a data connection.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

That really DOESN't help Hazey,

Specially knowing that I just spent the same amount of money on a device (Lumia 920) when compared to others in it's range that do support OTG! If cheaper chinese products can support OTG, why can't a big name like Nokia?

Really REALLY hope that Nokia does something about this... Sad to see the hardware capabilities there but severely restricted by the OS.

Best regards and hoping for the best,

Lumia 920 DOES NOT support USB OTG. I think this is a OS issue and not a Nokia issue. Bring your gripe to MS in their feedback page, vote it up.

If you had at minimum read up on the specs and review of the Lumia 920, you will know that USB OTG is not supported and you can spend your money with those cheap china made phones.

Windows phone does not support USB OTG and is far from unique in this. As indicated you should take this to Microsoft who made the design choice to not implement this. There is nothing Nokia can do about this.

Re: USB OTG support for lumia series...

Hello Azraeil,

Thanks for poiinting that out. I was right in expecting someone to point out the 'you should have read the specs' to me sooner rather than later! I was well aware of this way before I made the purchase. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing OTG not being supported yet but simply stating that Nokia should be able to do something about it. My comparison to the el-cheapo Chinese products that actually do support OTG was to merely state that if they can, why can't Microsoft + Nokia together? Unless this was intentionally left out or blocked.

I have always been a Nokia user since the 8110, 3310, etc. although I've had Apple, Samsung and other devices all along, a Nokia has always been my primary device for almost everything, the longest use being the N95 8GB which I recently swapped for the Lumia 920.

And yes, I did take it to MS and voted it up - all 10 of my votes. Hope that counts for something...

Previous Nokia phones had an entirely different operating system. Features like that can't be ported over to a Windows Phone.
