Hi,
It has become a serious problem for me, as it is not possible to find the phone number from which an SMS is received, in case the contact have more than one phone number registered. Did some one figured out how to differentiate the phone numbers in sms history?

Can tell you how it works on Nokia Lumia 920 .. (Not sure about Lumia 610)
Open the message and at the Bottom ..can see 4 Icons..Tap on the 'Switch' Icon and it lists the Contacts of the sender .. The Message is sent from the contact which is highlighted in the Theme accent colour ..

Agreed. The problem is with incoming SMS. There is no way to find from which number a particular SMS is received. All thesis from a contact are grouped under the same contact with no info on from which number it is received.
Not clear what you mean .. If its the same as Lumia 920 then you CAN know from which no. it was sent ..

Thats exactly what I have explained in Message 2. Check if you have same on Nokia Lumia 610 (..as its in the case of Nokia Lumia 920). ..When you tap on the icon (circled in the attachment posted in there) ..both the nos. of the sender gets displayed..but the one from which the message was sent is highlighted in the theme accent colour ...
..a similar thread for Nokia Lumia 800 is here

Thank you for being very aggressive in addressing my concern.
Yes. What you said applies to the most recent SMS received from a contact. Now the problem is with the older messages in the thread ![]()
Sorry if I'm troubling too much. This is seriously a major concern for me, as very often, I have to go to the history of messages from a contact, and reply to them on the same number from which the message is received.
My N900 was doing good in this aspect.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your efforts. Can you confirm if this is the same case with Lumia 920 too. I was expecting, MS would provide a way to solve this issue in at least 7.8 update.
Is there any place where we can request for a feature? I'm seriously considering Lumia920 as my next phone, but, just wanted to confirm that, this feature is at least in the wish list of MS.
Thanks.
