Is there a way to unlock Lumia 900 bought from AT&T. When called ATT call center, they say they don't have the unlock code and only Nokia can provide that for now.

I was wondering was anyone successful on getting the phone unlocked ?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.

The AT&T agent you spoke to is mistaken. You will have to obtain an unlock code from your carrier and not from the phone manufacturer. Please contact them again to get the code from them.

I was under the impression that for these subsidised devices AT&T won't make unlock code available until 4 months after purchase.

I bought this phone outright and they still won't unlock the phone and they are dragging "NOKIA" with them. When I called Customer care yesterday they told me that NOKIA is blocking them. Then I emailed Customer Care and they told me they won't be able to unlock for 90 days from the day of purchase.

AT&T is just lying through the nose and dragging nokia down with them in this lying.

I am sorry but your Lumia 900 is not eligible to be unlocked. Eligible devices must have completed at least 90 days of active service since the device upgrade date, or since the activation date of the service. The Lumia was purchased and added to your account on 4/21/2012 so will not be eligible for another month.

Here is a very usefull link just go to this site and fill out a form and this will get their attention. I had similar problem with another phone on their network I filled out a form and within 1 weeks I got a call from the president's office and within 15 minutes after talking to them they took catre of my problem.

Did anyone successfully unlock their Nokia Lumia 900. I have been trying to get that but ATT says that they dont have the code and the phone cant be unlocked before 8th October 2012 and Nokia says that they cant provide the code and only ATT can unlock the phone.

I am getting frustrated with the bouncing back and forth of this issue between Nokia & ATT.

Network unlocking has never been an issue that Nokia involves itself and as device has been subsidised by network provider they are solely responsible for such provision.

I bought it some months ago and I back to Brazil. Now, the device is unable to be used once it is locked.

How can I unlock it? 

They say that they can do it, but I'm afraid about it.

1. I sent a Nokia Lumia 900 purchased a AT&T store to my family back home in India. It was purchased at full price unlocked – no contract.

1. When they tried to use the phone in India, it was locked to AT&T.
2. I reached out to AT&T Customer support which said they can provide the unlock code if I sent them the IMEI
3. I sent them the IMEI, at which point they said this phone could not be unlocked.
4. When I spoke to the supervisor, I got a different story .i.e., the phone needed to be kept locked for 6 months as Nokia had instructed them to do so, and Nokia was refusing to release the unlock codes.
5. After several escalations, I was promised an unlock code in 7 days.
6. After 21 days and several phone calls,  I finally got the unlock code
7. The unlock code did not work
8. I advised my family to take the phone to the Nokia Service Center in India (Bangalore)
9. They tried unlocking the phone . . and said that the code from AT&T/Nokia was wrong.
10. I called AT&T and they said that it was Nokia who must have provided the wrong code
11.  Called Nokia complaints and they said they have no control/responsibility whatsover for the phone and that I should call AT&T.
12. The Nokia person refused to share his name, escalate to a supervisor, or prove the address where I can send a complaint to. Basically said Nokia wants nothing to do with Lumia 900 in US . it is an AT&T Issue.

I invested a lot of energy to convince my family away from an iPhone and try a windows phone instead.

With friends (ATT, Nokia ) like these, who needs competition ?

I bought the unlock code for lumia 900 At&t from 3 different sources, got the same code, tri it the 3 times and did not work, then I call at&t and they provide me the same ulock code,I try it and it didnt work, I still have 4 atempts, Has anyone gone ttrough this and got the right unlock code, please help. Its a great phone and I really need to unlock it to use it since I dont use at&t because is not available in mu country.  thanks

I'm from outside USA. Being international cutomer I've called AT&T to get the unlock code for my Nokia Lumia 900. I called them three times and got the unlock code. But it seems that the unlock code doesn't work. The third person who was working at AT&T told me that if the unlock code which they provided doesn't work, I need to contact for the manufacturer.

I've entered the code 4 times and a balance of 6 is remaining. I've spent a considerable amount for the phone, and if this cannot be unlocked it would be a utter waste of money.

I've double/thriple checked the IMEI no and the code. What I input is correct. Please.. please please help me NOKIA.

I have been using my Nokia Lumia 900 for 8 months. I am travelling to other country for 1 month. I am looking forward to use my phone there and asked AT&T costumer care to unlocked my phone. The agent nicely talked to me and told me that I am eligible to unlocked my phone and she will assist me to unlock it. 

She told me all the steps and provided me unlock code also. I didn't unlock. She randomly told me various ways to unlock but no result. Now there is only one attempt remains and I am afraid If I use all me attempts and It doesn't unlock. I shared the same concern and She said she will call me back after some research and will tell me exact solution. She didn't call.  Now I am afraid there is only one attempts and no clear solution. What should I do . Please help.
