Hi everyone
My Lumia 800 has a damaged SIM tray, it not longer sits flush with the phone.
I have tried everywhere to find a replacement with no luck.
I have however managed to source an N9 SIM tray. Am i right in thinking that these phones are virtually identical and that this should work in my Lumia?
I have read countless posts and watched many many videos showing the SIM trays on both, and they look identical, but can anyone confirm?
The seller of the N9 tray seems to think it will not fit , but i am sure it will.
Any help would really be appreciated.
Regards
Guy

Knowing Aspergerguy, he is probably in the process of putting the sim trays back into his N9 and Lumia 800 as we speak. ![]()

You know me too well, unfortunately I learnt the hard way of attempting to use Lumia one in N9 when moving one trimmed SIM between the two devices, but haven't to date tried N9 one in Lumia 800.![]()

@mdkdue
Don't quote me on this but cannot see any obstructions in Lumia 800 SIM slot to catch in the two dimples upon SIM tray of N9. Sorry that I can't try doing this in practice until tomorrow.

@mdkdue
Here are the results, unfortunately N9 SIM tray will not fully seat in Lumia 800 so no risk of it jamming!

Do you know why?, is the tray too long?
Yes, the holder for N9 is 1mm longer @ 26.5mm as opposed to 25.5mm from shoulder on Lumia one!

Ah jeez!. Do you think it would be easy to just file 1mm off to make it fit?
Unfortnately that is not the answer as microSIM would no longer be retained in it's holder and maybe dragged out upon removal of tray and left inside phone and 1mm of offset may also have bearing where individual pins of holder contact the SIM itself.

Getting desperate here!
With all due respect taking any magnification in to account the proportional difference remains between these two respective SIM trays which I took in daylight under better conditions than now prevail and my partner has now taken one of the devices out!
