I PURCHASED THE PHONE ON BOXING DAY MORNING FROM **bleep** SMITH. BUT TODAY THE PHONE COMPLETELY DIED!!!
there has no other signs on the screen except a big NOKIA silver logo in the middle of the screen. I tried to press the power botten to switch it off, unfortunately not working. the phone is just in my hand for about 2 weeks time, I pay a lot of attention to take care of it. A good case, a good screen protecter, and absolutely no drop and no water.
during these two weeks time, I did experience some times the phone is switched off straight way, I called the nokia service centre, but their english I totally don't understand. after a long conversation, Im clear one thing, re-initial my phone, I did so, then it works for couple of days, until today, totally died!! very bad experience.
I tried to call NOKIA, but they are offline on saturday and sunday.

Sorry to know that ... but you are one of the unlucky ones as the phone is not as bad as you think.. I own one since more than 2 months without any major issue ..
BTW, try a Hard Reset – Press Power+Volume(down)+Camera keys until the phone vibrates Then release the power button but keep the volume and camera keys pressed down for another 5 seconds. See if the phone comes to life ..

no need to hammer Nokia about this.
you can include additional info such as sw version, if you tried to update phone via zune,
and even if yours is faulty it does not mean it is a bad phone.that is why you are given a 2 year warranty.

look at my title, FROM MY EXPERIENCE it is not good enough.
put in this case, if you are the one who bought the phone about 2 weeks, and totally died, what will you think about it?
sw version : 1232.2109.1242.1001
When you performed the reset as advised by Farby did the date and time reset also? This will interfere with you call log and messages.
There is a major update due sometime in February that is supposed to fix many teething issues with the 920. It's already been released for the USA and Canada.

As for the Call dropping issue, is your SIM new ? Was it cut to Micro SIM from a regular one or its a ready Micro SIM ? It would be a good try to get the SIM replaced thru' your Operator. Most carriers do it for Free ...

thanks again.
I filled the form already, but the form said about 2 weeks time to fix it. I don't wanna be lost connect with my
workmates.
smith said they can do exchange or refund by assessed result from nokia. but in my position, it is after 14 days, which they TOLD me is out of their refund policy or exchange policy.
very bad isn't it??

I will try to put my sim to my mate's Iphone 4s to try tonight, see whats going on.

When I bought my Lumia 920 1 month ago, it would randomly drop network and give No service until I reboot the device ( airplane mode wouldn't work ) My SIM was 10 months old. I called my operator who told me that there is a newer version of my SIM that I could try.
Since then, my reception has been outstanding and voice quality outstanding. Give it a try.
Note that my older SIM was working fine with my Xperia S with no issue to mention.
Some phones are too sophisticated on the tech level for some SIM cards to deal with ( Lumia 920 )
Cheers.
