I'm having a problem with my new 822.
I put in my old Droid SD card (a 16 GB kensington class 4) and it wasn't recognized with data. So I cleaned it off, reformatted ... still no dice.
Bought a new Sandisk class 10 16 GB formatted FAT32 and it wasn't recognized. Tried again with reformatting to exfat to see if that was the issue. No dice, it still doesn't see that there is ANYTHING in that slot at all.
Now I'm at a loss.
Is it an issue with the slot?
Is it that I'm not using the super expensive but only class 4 Nokia micro SD?
Am I formatting incorrectly?
The verizon forum suggested that I reset the phone entirely to recognize the SD, but that seems extreme and also seems to violate the whole idea of the SD being a swappable medium.
Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. Yesterday after started my brand new Nokia Lumia 820 and insert SD card - Adata 32 Gb class 10 (it worked perfect on my old HTC 1 V), the phone refuse to start. I try all what I know. Only result, after many attempts, is - I succeed to make format on my old 2Gb SanDisk card. And now it works on the phone. But 32 Gb card don't work. Only once the phone start with bigger card but it note - there is no SD card found and after few hours it bug and have to restart with removing battery.

Backup all your phone's data if your phone's still working and if you have added apps and games, media and Office files or you have customised your phone, then tap Settings>about>Reset your phone.
