So I bought my Lumia 920 almost 3 weeks ago , and while it was dying every other day , I thought it's a Microsoft error and not Nokia's , turns out it might be both .
Yesterday I bought a brand new charging plate in red , ( wasn't available till recently .).
The power nap my Lumia 920 went wrong and my phone AGAIN went dead , as if it swallowed its tongue .
And while I thought this was yet another random shutdown which WP8 has blessed me with , It wasn't the next day I brought my wireless charger with me to work , and every 10 minutes the phone would again play dead .
have to reset it , then have to restore time and date as it doesn't do that automatically .
It's a very painful experience and I'm afraid Nokia is killing early adopters one by one , I thought Elop wanted to stop hurting the Nokia brand but it only is worsening now.
I don't want to exchange my phone with a new one only to find out it's the same and I have to wait for 2 months for the slowest update company in the world after Nokia ... Microsoft ...
Tomorrow I'm replacing my phone at Nokia care , but I swear if the same problem occurs in the replaced one , this is my last Nokia and let the burning platform burn Nokia with it.

When a device crashes that often, there is something seriously wrong. I would bet it is app related - tricky thing is finding out which app is causing the problem. It's of little comfort to you when another 920 owner replies to your problem by saying "Well, mine has never crashed or reset once", but it might tell you that the fault lies either with your individual device, or a rogue app - not the entire line of 920s, nor the OS. Facebook has crashed once on my 920 since I got it last month.
There's been mumbles of problems with Nokia Drive draining battery, and more mumbles about Skype interfering with the People hub, but your case is deffo the worst I've read about on these forums if it really is freezing every ten minutes. Let us know how you get on with the new one, and if you install the same apps, try to figure out if it is one of those that starts the poor performance when installed.

Having the same problem with my wireless charger. Every time I charge my Lumia 920 phone with the wireless charger, it end's up by dead and I have to do the hardware reset trick.

I have been having the same problem with my Lumia 920, although it also occurred once with the USB charging cable. There have been four instances.
First with the charging plate when charging overnight.
Second with the USB cable when charging overnight.
Third with the charging plate when charging overnight.
I then tried not charging it overnight, but charging in the evening and then refreshing it in the morning to have enough juice for the day. However the fourth time occurred this evening. I was charging just about 50 minutes. I noticed that the phone had gone from less than 70% charge to full charge in that time; the charging plate light had gone off.
The phone is completely unresponsive at these times. I can restore function with a soft reset, but I notice that the date/time is lost until restored automatically. Everything else comes back, but I worry for the long term what effect this might have.
I have been part of a thread at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/
I really don't know what to think, but there is some kind of problem with the charging process.
I am posting here in the hope that Nokia personnel are monitoring this thread. Is that accurate or is there a better way to bring this issue to the attention of Nokia?

Well, with ATT Tech Support I did the factory reset.
The phone survived a wired charge overnight. Then, just an hour ago, the phone went dead just sitting quietly for 40 minutes; battery strength was excellent at the time and after.
As before, the phone revived with a soft reset. However, it again lost date/time until recalibrated.
I was running only one app that did not come with the phone: Bloomberg business news. The ESPN app was running. Both were pinned to the start page.
I see enough reports to make me think this is a broader issue, but ATT and Nokia both deny they have every heard of it. I even gave them the links to the threads here and on Microsoft's site that describe similar issues, but that does not seem to affect their thinking.
I am sorry for the issues, not only for myself but for Nokia/Microsoft. At this point, I may call ATT Warranty Service, but I am wondering if this is more than a phone-specific problem.

nice to see everyone else having the same problem - got a 920 from EE in UK from the shop, started to die every wireless charge - phoned up after a couple of weeks, they said they would replace with next available stock - month or two later, still nothing from them......
doesn't always happen on wireless charge (occasional death from just being in the pocket), but 90% on are wireless charge - makes the phone unusable as I never know if it's actually "on" or died 4 hours ago and that isn't why i am not getting calls.....

My rogers 920 was doing the same thing when wireless charging over night. It did this about 3 times every other day. I then stopped charging it at night and it hasn't locked up again. I have the fatboy wireless charger. The phone charges really quick so I found no need to charge it overnight but it's still annoying and shouldn't happen. Maybe the wireless charger isn't turning off when it's supposed to and the phone gets overheated and locks up?
