Wireless charging stand's light will not go off when phone is done charging

Didn't see a forum for accesories so here goes...

Just recently bought a Nokia DT-910 (the wireless charging stand). It's awesome except for one thing: the white light on the base of the stand never goes off. The user manual states that the light is supposed to go off when the device is finished charging. This is not a big deal on my HTC 8X since it has its own light to indicate charging/charged, but for my Lumia 920, I have to either take the phone off the charger or carefully try to press the power button to check the charge level.

Re: Wireless charging stand's light will not go off when phone is done charging

hi mate,

same thing happens with the DT-900 i have. i got a DT-910 on the weekend and even when the phone gets to 100% charged, it still needs another hour or two before the light goes off. i think that the phone may not be reporting the stated capacity correctly, i would consider it akin to those electronic devices that do a quick charge to 80% in half an hour or something, but they're not truly at 80%....if u get what i mean. i did that last night and it said it was 100%, five minutes later it dropped to 92%. but then i popped it back on the stand until the light went out and bingo it worked and didn't discharge fast like it did before.

so i suppose its not accurately reported as a battery percentage, but it works as intended and works well i've found :smileyhappy:

That's weird. I just leave it on the stand overnight and when I wake up, the light is still on.

If you leave the phone on it long enough, the charging could be complete and then restart after some time to top up charge the phone.

indeed weird. have you checked that you are fully up-to-date with all the latest Nokia system apps in the Store? was working fine for me pre- and post-Portico update. also try a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates).

weird, there may be hardware damage to either the charger or the phone. i would recommend taking your phone to nokia care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

But it happens with charging the 8X too, so it would be the stand more than the phone.

sorry, my mistake, forgot that you wrote that. in which case i would take the DT-910 back to the point of purchase adn request a replacement.
