camera performance Lumia 920 vs N8

Hi all,

I just can't let it go. I am not happy with picture quality of my new Lumia 920. See crop of same thing taken with N8 and with Lumia 920.

I really hope Nokia do something about camera in Lumia 920, picture quality is not OK.

I'll questions here that I asked in the other thread.

What ISO and shutter speed was used in that photo?

Are duplicate shots as bad?

Can you retake using flash and see if that helps any?  I've oberved detail when using flash seemed to be much better.

Re: camera performance Lumia 920 vs N8

as pointed out in one of the threads related to camera issues.... by manually adjusting exposure value and white balance day light imaging can be improved in Lumia 920.

Re: camera performance Lumia 920 vs N8

Hi, I'm late to this thread but have just tweeted @NokiaHelps exactly same problem- though I was going mad! It's just not up to the N8-00 tho' granted that was a stunner. Am hoping to get it repaired/ replaced- distance shots don't seem to focus as well as I'd thought, plus there seems to be more blurring the closer you get to the edge of the lens. Anyone got their 920 replaced? Just looking at a shot taken in St Mary's Street, Cardiff just before kick off last saturday! My opinion: some static features should just be sharper. I can't expect a flag to stay motionless, but iron lettering fixed to the side of a solid stone building should be razor sharp. I try desperately to hold the 920 as still as possible, but the moment of taking seems to introduce blur. My photos certainly never look like the demo ones on Nokia's site...

Re: camera performance Lumia 920 vs N8

hi mate,

Nokia are continually in the process of updating their firmwares in phones which does bring improvements to things such as camera performance. i do use my 920 and trust it in low-light situations and most daytime photography but i do agree with you that there are some sharpness issues at times. i also have a N8 and that was a stunner as you said. i personally use the N8 for close-up shots at night, and during the day, while the 920 is for far-away shots at night and also as a casual day-timer.
