problem downloading any apps through app highlights or marketplace

Hi there

, i have done everything i believe i am ment to do however no matter what i try i can't download any apps at all from the market place or the apps highlights. am i doing something wrong - are there certain steps i should have done which maybe i havent? this is really annoying as i was very much looking forward to my first touch screen phone and now i can't use any apps functions.

any help appreciated its drivin me mad.

even had friends try and they have no idea either.

i am connected to the internet and hotmail so the internet is working.

Can you give us a more detailed description of what happens when you try to download an app?

What actually happens?. There is another thread about this a few threads below yours but the answers on it won't be of any help to you as the answers don't actually deal with the question asked.

i click 'install' and 'allow'

and it comes up with

there has been a problem completeing your request

try again later

error code - c101a247

hi caitlin - yeah i've tried looking on other threads but nothing really makes sense to what my exact problem is. its my first touch screen internet phone (i'm abit behind the times) so there could be something i'm missing doing - not sure

sorry i dont have a clue - i checked the cookies but i'm scared that i'm uninstalling the wrong thing and scared i wont be able to reinstall it then i'm even more buggered

You dont have to uninstall anything. Just check Internet Explorer to make sure cookies are allowed.

 

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list.
  2. Click Settings
     
     
     , then flick left to the Applications screen.
  3. Click Internet Explorer. You’ll see a check box next to text that reads: “Allow cookies on my phone.” Make sure it’s checked.

It's a Microsoft issue not a Nokia one. There's quite a lot of information on it if you google that code. If you're really stuck you could try going into a shop of your network provider, they'll have techie guys there who might be able to help.

Try rebooting the phone after changing the settings before trying to download an app. You can reboot by pressing and holding the power button for around 10 seconds,

Did you have a windows live account before you got the phone ? Can you check that your Windows live account is showing you as registered in the same country that you (and the phone) are actually in? If not that might be the problem.
