setting up voicemail when unavailable problem

I have a lumia 820 and I'm probably being stupid but I just can't seem to work out how to set up voicemail for when I can't answer the phone. I can set it up through 'call forwarding' so that it goes directly to voicemail. But I just can't work out how to set it up that it goes there after a certain amount of rings. Can anyone help please?
