is it normal that when putting the incall speaker's volume to 00/10 to still hear things ?

It is possible it could be interferance or background noises high pitched.

I didn't mean that...maybe ''things'' was too vague

I mean I can hear the conversation and whatever I would normally hear on higher volume settings. The volume is not muted at all....not even very low.

On my Lumia 920 the Speaker Volume works absolutely fine. On 00/10,  I do NOT hear anything from the  speaker . Just to take trial I asked the caller to speak VERY LOUDLY..still NO sound ...

Thought I'd try it on mine and with the volume set to 00/10 I can still hear the other person quite clearly. Not really a problem because I wouldn't want to mute the person on the other end of the line anyway. By the way, if I set the volume to 10/10 everyone around me can hear the other person so it's like it's on speakerphone.

well I thought it's a problem with the phone...not that I want to mute the other person ever.

Still, 00/10 should be mute by any means. Maybe portico will fix it.

have you tried performing a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together until the phone vibrates) mate? also check that you have all the latest Nokia system apps from the Store installed.

That is definitely not sounding as normal behavior, just checked myself and I do not have an issue, same as what others have reported here.

everything is up-to-date and soft and hard resets are always initial choices.

if portico or apollo won't fix it I will visit a nokia center. At this time it sure sounds like a software trouble as the lower limit of the volume is set too high. That's why at 10/10 it's getting almost louder than when the speaker is activated like Rayhipkiss said ( with high gain and distortion present as well).
