Hi all,
First of all, I've searched the forum and found lots of threads on this topic. I just received a new 5230 Navigation Edition phone (unlocked.....bought on Newegg.com) today. I downloaded the latest Ovi Suite on my Win 7 (64) PC and followed the instructions to setup a USB connection. When I plug the 5230 to my PC using the supplied USB cable, the PC recognizes the phone (Windows Media shows a 5230 phone picture) and the phone asks if I want to go into PC Suite USB mode. I say "ok" and run Ovi Suite. Ovi Suite recognizes the phone, but in the setup it says the phone is not in PC Suite USB mode. What?!? I unplugged the phone and repeated the process........but still Ovi Suite refuses to acknowledge that the 5230 is in "PC Suite USB mode". I tried repairing the Nokia Connectivity SW, as one thread suggested, but no luck.
It seems like I'm not alone and other phone models have this problem also. Come on Nokia.....fix Ovi Suite! If I can't get this fixed in 24 hours and sync my phone with the PC, I'll have to bail back to my old HTC phone (this phone is for my work......it must work and have my contacts/calendar, etc....).
Please help.

Just a quick update......I tried uninstalling Ovi Suite (and the associated Connectivity programs) then downloading the Suite again, turning off my internet connection, and installing, then rebooting my PC. This was a suggestion on the forum. No luck. Ovi Suite still says I don't have PC Suite USB mode turned on (even though it see my 5230 as a device and PC Suite USB mode is on).
Nokia, please help.

Yeah, I've tried that multiple times. Briefly this morning I was able to connect my 5230 via bluetooth and got Ovi working, but then it crashed/bugged out on Outlook calendar sync. I tried reinstalling again and now no connection whatsoever (USB or BT). I even tried installing Ovi Beta release........still gives the "phone not in usb mode" **bleep** message.

I have two distinct problems: PC Suite USB mode connection and Outlook sync. I've tried all of the suggestions so far, including yours. I've done the uninstalling, cleaning, rebooting/reinstalling (without internet) and it all filters down to the same initial issue every single time: Ovi is running, I try to add the device.......Ovi "sees" my 5230 via USB and highlights it as a "addable" device. However, when I click on it, I get the message that the phone is not in PC Suite USB mode (but it is). I don't know what Ovi is checking to confirm this, but it's wrong. So I do have USB connection to the PC (I can explore the contents of the memory card, etc....via Windows), but no PC Suite USB mode confirmation. If I could get beyond this problem, I might make some additional progress on my second issue.
Yesterday, when I did get connected briefly with bluetooth, I ran into the second issue....Outlook sync problems. Ovi doesn't sync properly with Outlook 2007 (for Exchange)....it goes into an endless loop of asking for the configuration to be setup.

Hey,
Hw abt removing ur device from Nokia Ovi Suite?
At least this is how in Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0
Nokia Ovi Suite > Tools > Options > My Device > Remove this device and then add the same device again
If u r facing issue in sync, try to sync one application at a time like, Message sync first, contact sync next and so on....

Hi,
As no USB micro USB cable is provided with 5230, are U using a CA-101 micro USB cable? If not, you'll just be able to power your device, synchro is not possible.
Use a CA-101 and your issue will be solved.
