From within OVI - When I click "Tools", "Add new device", the "Use Bluetooth instead" option is greyed out.
I have an HP Laptop - its a ProBook 4520S.
The Bluetooth is enabled and working (I can pair with my phone using the Windows 7 builtin functionality)
I have obtained and installed the very latest bluetooth drivers for the notebook - Thanks HP.
I have updated my phone to the latest firm ware. - Nokia 6303i Classic. v09.83 21-09-10 RM-638. Thanks Nokia.
I am running Windows 7 64bit Pro.
OVI works fine with the USB cable.
I would very much like to Sync using bluetooth - why is this option not available to me.
Please help.

I have the exact same problem with my brand new Dell Mini 1018 (Windows 7 Starter). The Ovi suite (ver. 3.0.0.290) "Use bluetooth instead" is greyed out and when trying PC Suite enabling BT connection reports "Cannot use the connection type.Check that all the needd hardware, software and drivers are available. (Code: OpenMedia)".
I have paired the phone and I can transfer files back and forth. USB connection also works, but I need BT.

Playing with drivers has indicated that when I removed Motorola driver from the system, Windows replaced it with generic driver AND Nokia OVI suite enabled the Bluetooth option, but it wasn't able to find any BT hardware. Back to square one.

am having the same problem on my MSI U130 netbook, but BT works OK on my desktop PC (MSI mobo)
Nokia - over to you!!

For XP users - this is worth checking:
http://bluetoothinstaller.com/
Check your Hardware Id and if it's there, you can replace the OEM driver with a generic one, this solves a lot of BT problems in XP.
