Hi all,

I get the following error message while installing Nokia Suite..

"Something's gone wrong. An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.MFC,version="9.0.30729.4148",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86",ty pe="win32". Please refer to Help and Support for more information."

How to fix this?

Welcome to the Nokia Discussion forum, downloading Nokia Suite is easy, and takes just five or ten minutes over a broadband internet connection. Before you start, check that you have everything you need to use Nokia Suite.

Your computer and your Nokia phone

• Check that your computer has at least 2 GB of free disk space
• Nokia Suite works with over 160 Nokia phones: check if your phone is compatible with Nokia Suite
• You need a USB cable or a Bluetooth connection between your phone and your computer. See Connect your phone to your computer

If you have Nokia Suite installed on your computer, it will be automatically replaced when you install the latest version of Nokia Suite.

Nokia Suite and Nokia PC Suite can be installed on the same computer, but you should not use them at the same time.

Have you tried simply rebooting your computer? If that doesn't help could you send me with a private message VC90_x86_v2.log file from here:

Can you see anything that could relate to this in Event Viewer?

Our installation is trying to install this dependency package: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=11895. You can try to download and install it directly.

Did a new instalation on of win Xp, upgraded to win media player 10 and I.E. 8 and still does not want to install. Running win Xp sp2 (This program worked before I re formated my pc)

Hi, I have a similar problem.

I formatted my PC recently and now I cannot install Nokia Suite. Im running windows xp sp3

I get an error message "There seems to be a problem with this installation file. To be able to install Nokia Suite download the latest version from www.nokia.com/nokiasuite"

I donwload it again and again and get the same error.

Any clue? Many thanks in advance.

Finally I solved the installation problem thanks to dan1el80 and his post /t5/Nokia-Suite/Nokia-Suite-3-2-100-installation-problem/m-p/1221851/highlight/true#M14231

But now I am suffering the "nokia suite must be repaired" loop.

I solved the "nokia suite needs to be fixed" problem by getting these two files: WMDRMSDK.DLL and MFPLAT.DLL from another PC with windows XP and copying them into C:\WINDOWS\system32

HI!

English is not my language so I hope you'll understand !!!

I would like to copy the DLLs (WMDRMSDK.DLL and MFPLAT.DLL)......  Did it solved the problem with noKia suite (must be repared)?  Did it cause other problems?  I want to be sure becaus I have an old system that doesn't perform very well....  And I can't install media player 11 because I have windows xp media center editon 2002.....

Could you please try some workaround?

The problem can be because WMDRMSDK.DLL has been missing.

There are three ways to rid of installation problem:

1.      Download/update the Windows Media Player 11

2.      Download Update for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 from

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?amp;amp;displaylang=en&id=2292

3.   Or just copy the WMDRMSDK.DLL and MFPLAT.DLL

But the program doesn't detect my phone....   so I'll try to find out why......

A lot of connection problem has been fixed in Nokia Suite 3.4. You can download the beta version from http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-suite-beta

To download the installer, you need to log-in with the SAME credentials that you use on this Forum..
