Hi,
I downloaded the ovi suite installer for the new version, but when i try to install, i get error 1714 The older version of Nokia Ovi Suite Software updater cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. I guess that would be the people in this forum.
What to do?
The previous owner of the computer had an earlier version of ovi suite (2.2) installed but i couldnt uninstall it properly, so i ended up manually deleting the folder...

This file has Microsoft's digital signature in it so it should be safe to use.

If you need to delete nokia connectivity cable driver installation first do the following:
Open dos prompt with administrator privileges and type "%PROGRAMFILES%\nokia\connectivity cable driver\setupextcmb.exe" uninstall "%PROGRAMFILES%\nokia\connectivity cable driver\". This will uninstall cable driver from your system and set it to safer state.

When getting this error first thing to try is to run repair for your CURRENT installation. To do that you have to go to add/remove programs and double click Nokia Suite icon. If repair succeeds then try upgrading again.
Microsoft has replaced their cleanup utility with Microsoft Fix It. In most cases it can fix corrupted installation files/registry entries. Try this if repair in previous step didn't help.
You can download Microsoft Fix It here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_
