Yet another person in total agreement with the OP. I installed Ovi Suite 3.0 on a PC running Windows XP and did a first-time synch between Outlook 2003 and my E71 -- no music, no pictures. The process took so long that I synch'd it again with no changes in any of the data in order to time it, and then synch'd again using PC Suite for comparison. The result: PC Suite -- 30 sconds; Ovi Suite -- 8 minutes.
Needless to say, I've gone back to PC Suite (hurrah! for the upgrade), but I still have a memento of my Ovi experience: all of my anniversary entries in Outlook have been shifted forward a day. The anniversaries on my phone are correct, and all the other data on both the phone and Outlook appear to be correct.
Weird.

Do you think the people at Nokia especially the CEO , and I will write it but doubt they have it "quality control" people look at these posts ?
I seriously doubt it
I have had 3 older N72's many of the features of Nokia Ovi will not work with it , when I had the time to tweek it I got most working.....
Now about my new 5800 music express , doesn't EXPRESS mean quck ?
nothing is quick about this phone, really nothing is new or exciting about this phone, nor any Nokia since the N series started .... The E series is a joke, the fonts are so small and you can't enlarge them well, the background colors make seeing a text/sms or who's calling you impossible even on a hazy day outside !
My old N72 all had their own special glitches, but worked ..but age and wear they have served me well.....they even had a special "switch " to access languages, and go straight to the music player .....
Hey Nokia , if the 5800 music EXPRESS is supposed to be devoted for mp3 use , where is the quick use "button " ?
the 5800X is a poor device at best...... what is worse is Nokia Ovi
they should force the CEO of Nokia to be in a room that is on fire .... tell him to access help via Nokia Ovi .....
he will be overcome by the smoke .... then cooked in the flames
I do NOT know which is worse Nokia OVI or my 5800 music express

The product has many issues including but not limited to the followings:
- The startup is 10 times slower than PC suite , the splash screen takes ages and sometimes it hangs for no reason. The sync process is very much slower as compared to PC suite
- The software sometimes crashes upon startup
- SMS , call and battery notifications are missing as compared to Nokia PC Suite
- Calendar cannot be viewed , I can only see (contacts , photos , messaging and Music) on the home screen
- You can't create any calendar entry of any type (meeting , memo , birthday , etc)
- Device backup time cannot be set
- Sync period with MS Outlook cannot be set
- Calendar items that are older than 4 weeks cannot be synced
- Under tools - options - device sync , I didn't select the message folder to be synced but the software has already synced SMS messages between the phone and computer! I didn't want to do that on my office PC!
- Cannot create MMS message as opposed to Nokia PC Suite
The same two products were installed on the same machine and used to manage the same 5800 mobile phone
I think Nokia should re-consider the release of this software before making it available with all of these issues and that more tests should be done internally by Nokia to confirm the stability of this application rather than to waite for users like me to report issues and bugs
PC Suite rules!

I wouldn't hold your breath! As you can see this thread has been running since 2009 and absolutely nothing has changed with OVI.Nokia just do not care about their customers - they just want to make money selling whatever rubbish they can get away with.I, like many others I assume, just won't ever buy Nokia again.

I have another reason.
On Windows Vista x64, I get the BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER blue screen of death, whenever I connect my N8 to my laptop. This is only when Ovi Suite is installed (either the current beta or final versions). No problem with Nokia PC Suite (7.1.30.9, among the last versions that will work with the N8).
True, my N8 doesn't charge via USB, with Nokia PC Suite. But, I'll take that over the BSOD and being unable to sync Outlook.
/t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/BUGCODE-USB-DRIVER-error-with-
Please, Nokia, either fix Ovi Suite or fix Nokia PC Suite (so that the latest versions will connect with the N8).

Hi Nukap,
you are actually posting a non-relative issue this has something to do with Ovi Suite vs. PC Suite, and not on Nokia handset.

Please allow me to add I have reposted a problem I´va had for so ong and even someone tried to help but it did not solve the issue, apart form all the issues already mentioned, another one is when sync photos it puts new phots all in the the same bloody folder, not with PC SUITE which was much better at managing this and on top of that my iisue sitill not fix: Cannot see photos as thumnails which are in my computer, however wehn clicking on the device it shows the phots on the device as thumnails and so FINALLY AFTER THIS LONG BATTLE I am DELETING OVI suite right NOW! and will go back to PC SUITE. uuuuufffffffff.......... What aload of cr*****p that OVI SUITE app.... SO NOKIA SHOULD reconsider what they supply to their loyal, faithful customers who really like NOKIA products!..
Amen!.
