@mjcg386
This is always a risk when updating device albeit small, although you could always use the services of a Nokia Care facility if one relatively handy.

@ mjcg386 - Did you wait when you got the message "Connection lost" ? If so, how long ? Its normal that the phone switches OFF and ON several times during update. When it switches OFF it shows that the connection is lost, but once it switches ON again the connection sholud get re-established. If you read the prompt that comes up at the start of the update process carefully, it says to ignore all the messages that you see on the PC .. You should not use or disconnect the device till the process is finished to avoid such repeat.. Though, bear in mind that in a few cases something may go wrong and the phone doesn't switch ON or gets connected again to leave you in similar situation ..

I had same problems with this update and it allways said "connection to the phone was lost" ... I never had a chance to find a solution and I finally found it my self.
When you go to Control Panel, find "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" ... click "CHANGE" and then go to "REPAIR".
AND VOILA !!! IT WOOOOORKKKS ![]()

Failed again. Using Nokia Suite 3.7.22 with repaired Connectivity Cable Driver.
The first pic is the progress bar stuck at around 15-20%.
The second pic is the connection lost notification.

Can you tell me the OS of the PC that you are using? You can try this troubleshooting and see if it will work:
In Windows 7 and Windows Vista the reason for failure may be caused by windows trying to download and install additional conflicting device drivers during the update process.
To disable windows device installation for the duration of the Nokia Suite process do to following:
After this process please try to run the Nokia Suite process again. You may need to manually connect to your device again using Nokia Suite's "Add New Device".
Remember to enable the windows device driver settings after successfull installation.
