6680 Two queries: Disable Startup Tune / Meaning of symbols on screen

1. I don't want my phone to play the Nokia tune every time I turn it on. Is there some way I can stop it?

2. There are some symbols towards the top right of the "desktop" that I would like to know the meaning of, or where I can look up their meaning. They are black. One is like an arrow on its side with the end kinked upwards. The other is like a tray with the head of an arrow pointing upwards from it.

2. The arrow on the side indicates calling diverts. The tray with the upwards arrow indicates messages in your "Outbox".
