Is it me or is "Swipe to unlock" rather slow as missing tap to unlock already?
Prefer not to use spring loaded "lock-key" as probably first component to fail!

I have no reason to believe that the physical unlock slider would fail. I bet your USB connector will reach end of its life long before the unlock key. But other than that, I miss that tap to unlock button too.

Please try the following: Press Menu key and then swipe from the right to left. There is not "unlock" button on the Nokia Belle FP2.

@aspergerguy Did you really create this thread with the title "808 Belle FP2" ? Tut tut.
I agree that the swipe is a little slower than the previous tap, however, I pretty much always use the physical lock switch and have no reason to think it will fail. The switch never failed on my N97, C6-01 or N8 and this one on the 808 seems the most robust of the lot.

aspergerguy said that the swipe was slower than the tap, not that he couldn't find how to unlock the screen without using the switch.

@mathewleech
As I have arthritis in right thumb making bending to use lock button uncomfortable have chosen to use software application upon which briefly covering proximity sensor twice unlocks phone to homescreen and also locks when placed in pocket.

I have found out that the best alternative for the physical unlock button on Nokia 808 is an app LanternSoft Lock Unlock. Using this app I can unlock the phone very fast, by pressing menu button twice. Pressing menu button is much faster on Nokia 808, comparing to N8, so this app has become very useful for me after upgrading to Nokia 808.
