If I connect the 808 phone in Nokia Suite Mode and try to look at contacts or check for update the phone will light up the screen on and off like someone is touching the home button on the phone randomly every so often. I can see the usb connection is active and there is some kind of sync circle icon active but nothing is actually hapening. and is useless.

This is using the latest Nokia Suite and I have tried rebooting the phone and even connecting it using offline mode with nothing open. The purpose of course is to check for the latest update for the phone and back up my contacts locally.

I managed to get the suite to back up the phone.

I found that if I synced the contacts from the main screen instead of going to the contacts or messages tab it allowed the funtion to work. Perhaps because I never synced the phone before the suite was freaking out or who knows.

The only thing you can do is try to update your nokia suite if any available. And even your symbian device.

It can even be possible that your nokia suite is damaged due to some internal pc issues. So try reinstalling pc suite.
(Uninstall the previous suite first before installing)
