Battery...battery...battery

c6-01 Battery last 24 hours on stand-by after the latest belle update: 111.040.1511

Bluetooth off, and wifi off or should I say disabled by swipping down and making sure the icons are black.

Is there a fix for this, because this is very frustrating.

No other apps running in the background.

Re: Battery...battery...battery

Hi mate, do you have the weather widget running by any chance ?

I 'm having the same problem on my 808 and even though I have the wifi off and mobile data off it still keeps trying to connect to the net because of this weather widget.

Even though I really like this widget I deleted it and the battery seems normal now.

But I wish they could fix this.

Re: Battery...battery...battery

Hello,

Could you please let me know , which all widgets were active in the homescreen?

Please check all the homescreens for widgets.

Also is the mail application configured in the device and what is the sync frequency?

Is lync or any other microsoft app configured ?

That's funny that you mentioned that because I did have the accuweather widget, and after the lasted version upgrade I do not see the wiget anymore. Maybe I'll just delete the app all togther.

Re: Battery...battery...battery

Ok..did another test. Removed the weather app...and it did nothing, battery still die within 24 hours.

However, after I re-charged the battery and took my sim card out the battery is still FULLY charged after 24 hours. My sim card is ATT 3G...so what does this mean, this is very very interesting...either some app on my sim card is running or it's ATT 3G that's killing my battery.

Any ideas???

Re: Battery...battery...battery

Taking the sim card out is like going in OFFLINE MODE isn't it ?

When I do this Mobile data does not try and connect so there for it saves battery. Yeah I found out it's not the weather widget either but something still keeps trying to use MOBILE DATA and keeps trying to connect. THis only happens when I turn WIFI OFF and MOBILE DATA OFF.

Something is trying to connect all the time but not sure what it is. But whatever it is, it is chewing the battery up by trying to use internet connection. Or maybe it's just a bug where mobile data needs to be on and if it's not it tries to connect ?

What ever it is I wish Nokia would try and fix this as this is wearing the battery out, and if they had any respect left for Symbian they would fix this for all the people that bought their last great phone.

Re: Battery...battery...battery

Yes....taking the sim card out is like putting the phone in offline. I did this to deteremine if the battery is at fault or the sim/connection...so it's the sim/connection.

I talked with Nokia yesterday and they suggested I do a factory soft reset. I did that and again this morning my cell is dead.

I'm not sure what carrier you're using but I'm going to try another test this weekend. Today I put my sim into another cell phone that I have ATT phone and I'm going see how long it last.

I will also, charge the nokia, put a newer ATT sim in and see what happens.  My sim card is several years old so not sure if that will make a difference. Last night I did notice that my phone was using, look like 3.5g, so I switch it to use just 3g.

Will report back...I'm really shock that more people are complaining. Me, I do not use my cell that much so I never had to charge it every night like most people, so I guess those that are use to charging their cells every night don't know the difference.

[ Edited ]

There are a couple of things which might be worth checking:

Menu > Search > Settings > Network search > Off

Maps > Settings > Drive > Maps improvement > Off

I also use both Netquin Mobileguard and AppStop to check for rogue processes running in the background. There are quite a few apps which launch at phone boot which I kill promptly after switching my phone on in the morning and then all is good. Viber absolutely killed battery at a rate of 8-10% per hour so I uninstalled it.

I can get at least 3 days of normal use out of my 808, incl. music over bluetooth, various map applications incl. Public Transport, checking email, etc.

Re: Battery...battery...battery

Turned off map improvements and phone improvements, and switched phone to GSM vs 3G...could not find the setting for network search on the c6-01, but nothing is working my battery will not last 24 hours on standby...Is there a way to determine all the processors running on the c6-01...I swear it's something wrong in this release. Nokia is going to kill themselves, because I will try for another couple of days...then I'll by an unlocked Andriod...because this is really stupid.
