Will the N8 get any of it, especially the smaller widgets?
Nokia, come on, these massive widgets reduce the phone's functionality. Not to mention that some widgets are poorly designed (like social having refresh at the bottom of a list, or if you click on it, you're not in "all activity", and the new mail widget).
The mail, music player, and social widgets are just too huge to use and say the phone has better interface functionality over an iPhone and Androids. The social subwidgets are quite terrible, as is the entire app now. The last version was pretty near perfect, but of couse, not good enough for nokia. They have to add bloat to streamlined, functional apps.

Well..according to Heidi Lemmetyinen at Nokia Conversations the "older" Symbian 3 devices(N8, C7 etc.) will NOT get FP1
. Possibly due to system requirements, I suppose.
We can hope that at least some of the widgets will be released for the N8 eventually..
The latest weather widget from Nokia Beta Labs seems to work fine on my N8 Belle though :-)

Hi all,
The Belle feature pack 1 will indeed be made available for Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701. Although Nokia is gathering feedback about the Belle release, expect more changes and fixes soon for 1st generation Symbian 3 devices. Stay tuned!

Is Belle FP1 required for Microsoft Office apps per http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2009/aug0

Will belle feature pack one increase processor speed 1 ghz to 1.3 ghz.
Yesterday in nokia conversation say that only 700 and 701 get increase processor speed 1 ghz to 1.3. finally what about 603, the 603 will increase speed.![]()
(NOKIA CONVERSATION)
Also good news for Nokia 700 and 701, your handset will be faster and more responsive. It’s not so often that software update delivers an increase in processor speed, but with Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 the processor speed of your handset will go from 1GHz to 1.3GHz.

Nokia always doing wrong things.
I wonder, why not increase the speed of the N8-00 processor at 1 GHz?
The processor 701 is based on Nokia AMR11, the same processor that integrates the Nokia N8. How is it that the Nokia 701 to 300 MHz increase in processor and N8 can not? I guess this will bring deficiencies in the battery 701, but there are many people that we care more about the team's performance that the battery life.
It's amazing to see this company as collapsing day by day.

I think with this news we can take for correct processor speed may be decreased / increased by updates. This was something that many people thought was impossible.
Greetings!

Nokia always makes users abandon. That is why other companies are much better. Nokia only makes integrating your marketing campaigns much camera, but still well below the competition in terms of processor, memory, operating system and overall performance.
Surely we N8-00 users will not have the new update. That's what I call user abandonment.

After the experience with the changes that came with Belle, the "expect more changes" part sounds frightened ![]()

thats sad. i know that there is no real future for symbian but there are other companies that are planning hardware and software including updates. Its sad to see that there are so many different phones instead making some good ones and concentrate on software.

Hello everyone ..... then you are saying, that after this update for nokia n8, there will be no update?? leave everything as the Nokia 5800 and others? I spent 500 euros for a phone ... follow every update each of us must always buy a new nokia -.-

Ok Nokia, Symbian Belle is awesome on my N8, and the only bugs I found are Autofocus, the blinking of connection missed, while I was not using it, and very slow emoticons using on messages.
The point is, we were really believing on your last force to bring us an enhanced experience based on new improvements for N8 camera that still can give a lot, apart from the new loving Pureview surely and obviously better. The smoothness is already good almost everywhere but we would like at least to have all new useful characteristics of new OS versions. I mean the dragging down panel is good but improvements of its few functions would be appreciated, like a little better multitasking bar, maybe with autostart (boot up) apps, because NetQin is not really making it good, now with Belle, and they told: no more updates for Symbian. We would like to see the aspect, options and widgets of new packs/carla, donna, always at the limit of the possible of course.
Dolby Digital for N8 may be useful, little overclocking, in the case of hard apps working or gaming only, so battery's energy won't be wasted.
And many of these beautiful things may be handled by 680 Mhz processor.
Please Nokia, Accenture if exists, consider we customers who spent goOD money, with another last "Big" Update, giving us more freedom than it already can with this Wonderful Os, and continue to add new apps, games for "old" models and compatible versions of good apps, not more working like SoundHound. Nokia make it happen! Thanks

Hi LiptonICEI
FP1 is something like a major update for native Belle devices because it includes an overclock and I think what we, Symbian^3 users upgraded to Belle, really need is only to complete our Belle release; this means Nokia gives us the missing widgets, restores the missing functionalities and takes care of all the bugs with Belle posted in this forum. It would be nice, though, that Nokia gives us also that HTML5 browser and gives to N8 users that camera software, too.
I really don't think we need or even can handle an overclock in our Symbian^3 native devices because battery drain and overheating, among other bugs this should cause.
Cheers!!!
