Hello, since update to 1507 OTA I had no single occurence of restart or freeze. It is now 5th day from installing. Crashes and "Memory full" messages fully stopped .
Software version is: 113.010.1507
Software version date: 2012-09-21
Custom version: 113.010.1507.C00.01
Product code: 059M9M4

Do you have High Speed Packets on?

I'm using roaming SIM so I'm not using mobile data through 2G or 3G, only wifi. From time of installing FP2 I had dual mode for 3G allowed, then I switched to 2G only, no problems.
I'm using most of time wifi connection. My problems with restarting were not related just to 3G or 2G data, but data in general. Restart was simply caused by lost of data connection, doesn't matter if 2G, 3G or wifi.
Btw. I don't see in my version of firmware possibility to switch off high speed data.
As I know it should be in Connectivity->Admin. settings->Mobile datata
I think this menu item disappeared after update
I will change SIM to local provider and test 3,5G connection. But I had no problems with mobile data connection at all so I don't expect this will change with FP2. I will write here result after test.

<sigh> It's posts like this that are very misleading and really only add confusion to a thread.
1. You are using 2G connection only, which means you can NOT use HSPA+, so you are currently using an un-acceptable, and known, work-around to the problem (so far as I am concerned!)
2. The reason "Disable HighSpeed Packet Access" is missing from your settings is because you are forcing the phone to use 2G(GSM) mode! HSPA+ is not a feature of a basic GSM network, it's a 3G onyl thing I think!
I'll give you the beenfit of the doubt and the update fixed some other reboots for you, but it's certainly not the bug this thread is discussing!
Do the following to see the bug mentioned here (If you are affected)
1. Settings -> Connectivity -> Network -> Network mode -> "Change from GSM to Dual Mode"
2. Wait for a stable 3G connection
3. Settings -> Connectivity -> Admin. Settings -> Mobile Data -> High Speed Pack Access -> "Change from Disabled to Enabled"
Now you will see occasional reboots. Well the chance is very high if you are in the US and on AT&T, though there are reports of other networks/locales being affected too!

trebor,
I've been following this thread and the problem for 2 months. For me, FP2 (1507) OTA has fixed the reboot issue
my problems before
- Dual mode
- HSPDA enabled
- SD card, tape over the SIM edge
- Amazon USA model on At&T
No combination of changes fixed the rebooting, would reboot at least 2-3 times daily. No workaround worked for me except forcing into GSM(2G) mode. After FP2 OTA, my phone has only rebooted once in 6 days (since official FP2 OTA released)
Now, I'm sure there are several varients of problems causing reboots, freezes, but my particular problem is fixed or very rarely occurs anymore. Trust me, i've been monitoring reboots on my phone for the last 2 months daily.. cursing it.

Yes of course I'm bringing only confusion to this thread. That I found that reboots are not related to traffic usage, but lack of data connection. If you read this thread from start thoroughly you will see that most users complained about reboots when there was weak 3G signal and occasional lost of 3G signal, e.g. lost of data connection.
I only found that this problem is related to lost of data connection in general. It is very probable that if someone switches from 3G to 2G it has stronger signal and less data connection losts.
I did a lot of testing with my phone on 2G, 3G switched of/off high speed data. So your angry reaction about me not using 3G is exaggerated. I can put my T-Mobile US SIM in my N808 anytime and try stability. In fact I already did today for 2 hours, I was using video call, internet, IM... No problem.
Restarts I was noticing are well within description of this thread and simple fact is that after update to 1507 they stopped. And I'm not alone in such status as I see Pureviewusa's comments.
I wrote that I will test also 3G stability thoroughly, but you still react impatiently and with anger.

I think I found a solution regarding the loss of signal. While I was using my nokia808, I had to switch to an iPhone 5 for a week, and because the microsim doesn't fit in the iphone 5, I had to get the nano sim. After a week, I returned back to my 808, and decided to use the nano sim in my nokia, to see if there was difference regarding this issue. Since I switched to the nano sim in my nokia, I haven't had an issue with the signal loss, not once. I believe it's not a software issue, but a hardware one. My solution, get a nano sim and replace it with your micro sim.

This is promising! Sad to say, though, this is not the case for me. I upgraded from the previously-leaked '1506 to the '1507 firmware (US version) a few days ago, and after re-enabling HSDPA today my phone has rebooted twice (while driving).
Original micro-SIM from AT&T.

Hi guys.
I have tried hard reset and reinstalling software (FP2) this didn't work. I took it to a Nokia Care Point and they flashed it and put FP2 back on. Same problems, crashing, cannot access the internet etc. I have now sent my phone back to Nokia and requested that they do not flash it again but try and fix it or replace it.
I know it's going to come back with the same faults on it and It will take me weeks to get them to actually replace it which seems to be the only long term fix.
Nokia engineers are you reading this? Please just replace handsets with this issue because it would appear that you don't know what's causing it or how to fix it.

Could it be a different between OTA 1507 and PC Suite. Could OTA possibly have slightly different software? Its prob too late to do OTA.

My phone still looks stable after OTA 1507. I didn't hard rebooted or something, I even got certificate unlock there, installation was smooth, all applications remained and restarts stopped.
Today it is 6th day. From yesterday I was heavily using 3,5G connection. I have weak 3,5G signal here, so there was a lot of switching to 2G and back.
No problems at all.

Ok, so in your original post you said you were using 2G only. That wouldn't necessarily tell you the bug was fixed! Now you are sayign you have tried 3G aswell and the bug is still fixed for you? Great, but it isn't fixed for me on AT&T, I am getting occasional reboots, multiple per day, with this latest firmware. I used Nokia suite to update however, not OTA.
I hope you managed to fine your "High Speed Packet Access" setting that is still there! ![]()
Thansk for the feedback pureviewusa. Unfortunately I woudl need to flash back to an older firmware versiont o try the OTA update.
How are you using the nano sim in the 808? Do you have an adapter?

It would be great if anyone who did "OTA 1507" (and did not flash to the 'leaked' FP2) and still has the reboot problem.. please speak up.
Would help to narrow down if OTA is the only successful method, or we're just getting lucky (combination of software and hardware is causing the problem)

Hi all,
A new FAQ has been created concerning this issue, it can be found here:
http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/troubleshooting
Thanks, Craig
2012-10-18 8:58
Thanks Craig, but hopefully that will not be Nokia's last word on the issue?
For a $700 price tag, it seems somewhat ridiculous that the fastest speed available is "plain old" 3G (UMTS), no?
(Before you say WiFi - it's so buggy in Nokia Belle that that too is almost worthless. Broken EAP/PEAP authentication, Nokia Store issues, etc)
Elop is to blame of course, having deliberately and counterproductrively sucked out any remaining life from Symbian with nothing good to put in its place. Still, is it this bad at Nokia that not even a (relatively straightforward?) bugfix in Nokia Belle is now impossible? From a corporate strategic perspective, this amounts to suicide... plain and simple.

For sure "plain old" 3G is not the fastest speed available for this device. I am using HSPA on a daily basis.
At the current moment, the FAQ says: "Please send your phone to a Nokia Care Point for inspection if it has the following symptoms when using 3G/HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) data connectivity.....[continues]"..
So read the symptoms, and if you experience them, do as the FAQ says.
The Nokia Care Points will inspect the device and handle the situation from there. Information has been delivered to the Nokia Care Points on what to look for.

why did it took you so long to just write down what we reported 4 months ago?
there are no additional information's, do you expect us to accept this "solution"?
what about the "solution in testing" you told us 2 weeks ago?
i guess it never existed...
can you give us at least the information's you have on this issue?
what is causing it, was there a problem in manufacturing?
another thing is, some people are reporting .1507 works more stable... can those who got .1506 (e.g. switzerland) an update to the latest version?
this is very disappointing!
