Changing from a Lumia back to a symbian device.

Hi there guys im completely fed up with my lumia 800 I have been waiting for the 7.8 update for ages and have given up with it my carrier is no help the shop where I got my contract is no help and nobody seems to know why mines not updating. I went into the local secondhand phone shop and looked at a lovely grade A unlocked nokia N97 mini I am seriously considering trading the lumia for it, they offered me a good deal too. What do you think?

To be honest, neither the N97 or N97 mini had that much of a good reputation, in terms of memory usage.
If you can, try to find the 808 (might still be expensive though) or the N96.

I like the 808 but as you said it still really pricey. The thing with the N97 mini is I love the physical keyboard.

I like more the physical keyboard of an E71 or E72 then.
Or the E90.

I have been looking at the E72 is it still useful by todays standards. the only thing i'll miss if I decide to get my Lumia is the sat nav.

There is Nokia Maps for E72, don't worry.
It might not be as "shiny" as  on the Lumia phones, but the map data is the same, as well as the functionality.

Surprised that you didn't put E7-00 upon your shortlist having got used to a touch screen but perhaps too pricey.

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white kudos star would always be appreciated.

Re: Changing from a Lumia back to a symbian device.

My girlfriend uses the N97 mini for 2 years now. The main problem is the battery, she needs 2-3 batteries to go trough the day. You can buy an external charger, and some extra sets of batteries on amazon. She loves the physical keyboard.

The N97 has the problem with the low main memory.

I would rather suggest to go for the Nokia N8, and use a custom firmware, like TheOne CFW.
