the old navigation editions were in effect standard phones which included a lifetime licence for turn by turn navigation . All current gps enabled handsets that are capable of using Nokia maps 3 or above come with lifetime free navigation (older handsets can still use navigation but require a paid for licence which the cost has been drastically reduced) . As for google maps though they can be used on Nokia phones no navigation feature is available for Symbian phones only android . However as google doesn't work with preloaded map data it requires a data connection which means it cannot be used offline , as a result Ovi maps is a better and more convenient alternative and at a cost of free it is priced very competitively
