Whilst maybe not quite what you meant, there is nothing to stop you using Handwriting calculator designed for S60 5th Ed. devices on your N8 as per screenshot here:

 

Symbian specialist until 31/01/2013 with interests in Maemo & MeeGo but an aversion to Windows!

...just found this in the OVI store > WriterTouch <  if you do buy it to use, please post back on here to let everyone know the usability of it :smileyvery-happy:

Thanks for bringing this application to our attention, the paucity of instructions doesn't help much and not immediately obvious say how to import image:

Symbian specialist until 31/01/2013 with interests in Maemo & MeeGo but an aversion to Windows!
