Go to Settings>phone>general>reset factory settings.
Or,
type:*#7780#.
In both cases default lock code is:12345.

If you can't turn the phone on and need to reset it

Hold down the following keys

3, * and green phone, then turn the phone back on again keeping the keys depressed until it prompts you to enter your PIN. It should be as out of box as in resetting time, location and date and of course all other phone settings and memory will be erased.

In my case neither code or GREEN-*-3-OFF button doesn't work(!!!
Is there any other solution to restore factory settings??

Is your phone dead or you just cant type the letters?!?!?
In that case, it should be taken to nokia care point.

No it's not dead, but if I type code *#7780# nothing happening....if I press call than it's saying "Not Done" ..... if I try * + green + 3 + ON/OF button again noting happening
I've seen on some other forum that it can be done by entering letter code *#RESO# but there is no explanation how to enter letters 'cos when you type always numbers coming up....

Is there any software in the market like i had for Nokia 6600 "System Tools" which has future to restore phone for you...?

It will work definitly. But turn off the phone first and make sure you push all three buttons tight and turn on the phone. You have to keep them pressed until handshaking logo or pin enter is appear. I have use it so many time since my beloved 6600.

Unfortunately it doesn't work ! I tried 100's of times....even with helpers (to press 2 buttons for me) but no effect !

This is e real and function trick for default factory reset.
Example after firmware update, and restore backup from pc to n73.
1. Turn On the phone
2. press (tap) 3 buttons at the same time :
green call button
3
*
until you see pin code request.
Don't push on buttons, but press (tap buttons).

im trying to restore to factory settings on an N8 but it keeps giving me this message "end all active calls and connections first"..i cant see ive got anything open.

What if you do it immediately after Re-booting the phone ?

just tried again and got as far as entering the lock code and now its saying error.i entered 12345.

Have you set any Security code of youer own ? If so enter that instead of 12345 .

If this isn't the case, you may also try removing the battery for some 30 seconds, insert and see...

Sorry about not giving proper attention to your earlier post but only to the SUBJECT mentioning it to be Nokia N73.. you may try keeping the Power button pressed for about 8 seconds till you get it vibrate 3 times..
