Hello Friends!
Spending time here in Nokia Discussions-sites I have seen little criticism
towards Nokia´s latest top devices. Ok, you can always find something to
say about anything (think about your gilr/boyfriend) but I love my Nokia N97
and Booklet,
and I also will buy the new N8. Looking forward to get my hands on it!
What will you do?

Why can't I buy it from Nokia Ireland? Why do they not sell any phones directly to us here in Ireland? Not impressed with the fragmented way things are done by Nokia, it feels like they treat consumers differently depending on location. Nokia Ireland informed me that it won't be until November that the N8 will be selling in Ireland...this isn't good enough!

at least you have the option of nipping over the boarder

I've been eagerly awaiting the N8 ever since it was announced. I was hoping that it would be released before now, would have made a nice birthday present! As it is, it'll be a couple of weeks after. Still a very nice late b-day present. Unfortunately, initially at least, it will be available only in gray in the USA. I wanted the blue, but I do need a new phone. My 6720 classic looks sick by comparison to the N8. I need more memory for my music. ![]()

Since Nokia already announced that this phone is dead-end (last N-series phone with Symbian), I rather wait for MeeGo-phones,.

That's it. Nokia, please dump Symbian cause you messed with it and screwed it. Linux is the way to go.
The Psion Revo is still the most advanced device. If only it had a SIM slot....

I AM NOT GOING TO BUY THE N8
And pre-ordering in Indian market is a BIG NO.
Pre order for bloo** 30k and get a product with **bleep** problems and a product code that doesn't get FW updates. OH and the fact that after fki* 3 months the phone will be upto 7k cheapoer with freebies worth upto 3k.
GOOD BLOODY DEAL FOR THE EARLY ADOPTERS.
Nokia India sucks big time and so does Nokia's recent devices.

In my opinion, a if n97 were a girl, she would be the one who goes to clubs every weekend in search for single dude because she would live most of her life as a single. She would be the most talkative, loudest one, who never does anything correctly.
And as for the n8 , i'm not going to pre-order it, given its spec. I'll wait or invest for the next nokia better phone ( i have a belief that nokia has the ability to produce the best smartphone, it's just that they don't want to...but i hope there'll be a day when they will.).
Since you love your n97, you should be fine pre-ordering n8. It's a better upgrade to n97
.

Don't buy it, N8 does not support build-in VoIP Client!

@mccoy1,
"It's a better upgrade to n97", that is the way I think it, too.
New software, metallic cover (suits better to the phone
costing 500€) and 20 months newer phone altogether.
For you fellows worrying about future of symbian-software,
remember what Anssi Vanjoki said about it in june this year.
And I am sure there will be many interesting news to
come in few days ahead from #Nokia World 2010.

Are you certain about that? Have you looked in the N8 user guide or the voip section on forum nokia before making that overly large statement? You might be surprised if you look.
