Got my N8 yesterday and it's fantastic
*Most* things just work as expected!
The only issue I have is that incoming calls are not recognized as contacts i.e. the number is just shown and not the name.
Any clues? Thanks...

But what happens if people living in the same house have their own mobile numbers and shared land line? I'd prefer to have my contact list complete and from either contact be able to phone their land line. I know this gives the phone a problem choosing but can't it just pick the first contact with that number?

Hello @mario,
I know this kinda late to reply your message. Since there are noreply to your question.
But I think you should know the answer by now.
Anyway, if one contact have several number and one number is set to be the default
for call or for messaging, then you have no way to select number when calling.
but, if there are no number set as default for this particular contact, then the phone should
give you a list of number for this contact.
Hope this help, if not too late. :-D
Thx

One question..How do I save an incoming number ( a new number/caller ) into the Phone Book on my N8 ?
All my previous phones, ( not Nokia's ) had this feature of saving/storing incoming numbers into the Phone Book.
Can someone please provide an answer?

@anrad73.
To save an incoming callers number as a new contact, what you need to do is when the call is finished goto Menu > Applications > Tools > Log > Recent calls > Received calls, then long press on the number you want to save as a new contact and from the pop up menu select save to contacts.
I realise it is a very long winded way to go about things, but that's Symbian for you![]()
Hope that helps.

anrad73,
If you want to free up some space on your home screen you can get to the call log easily by pressing Call then the green button with the handset and arrows on it.
