Messages import export question? [Urgent!!!]

Hi. I've Nokia N97 Mini phone. Today automatically some of my phone softwares got corrupted and wifi is also not working. So i've decided to format my phone. But i am having some confusion with the sync of messages.

All i want is "After formatting my phone i get back my messages as it is that means [currently i've 1900 messages in my inbox,700 messages in sent folder] messages will get transferred to phone somehow."  Now my question is how this thing is possible? Any application any solution are welcome here. I've heard that it is possible through Nokia OVI Suite but experts i want to make sure that it really works because last time in 2011 when i formatted my phone this doesn't work that means i was able to sync messages to OVI Suite but after formatting my phone i was not able to sync messages to back to my phone. Please reply at earliest.

Re: Messages import export question? [Urgent!!!]

Hi friend,

Bad news, Nokia Suite sync is one way. It will Backup but would not Restore it back.

Good News, there are two ways to accomplish this task:

1. In Phone, go to Files (File Manager)>Backup/Restore>Backup now.

2. On PC, take a Full Backup of device through Nokia Suite. It will include your Messages. Later you can Restore.

Hope it helps !

Good Luck :smileyhappy:

The messages which are Synced with Nokia Suite can be brought back in to the phone by Drag-and Drop. Select all messages in INBOX in the Nokia Suite and drop them to INBOX of the phone (at the bottom next to the phone icon) Similarly you can do for the SENT messages.

Thanks for reply Jainendra. Do you have any idea where that backup function in the phone stores backup means i know the folder location where it stores the backup?

@farby : did your method really works? Have you tried it before?

Many a times with success .. Why don't you try it yourself to confirm . If you have doubts, just send one message to yourself.. Sync it with Nokia Suite and delete it from the phone.. Then try to bring it back into your phone as mentioned..You are not going to lose anything.

..additionally you may Back-up as mentioned by Jainendra

You may also wait and see his reply as he must have already tried the method posted by me.
