I have been using gmail for a while now on my N8 and it appears to receive emails perfectly. However, when it comes to sending emails with an attachment it seems a bit hit and miss. I am not referring to large attachments but about 2Mb.
Is there a limit either from my N8 or the gmail application?
Thank you.

Hi tangerine,
If you are using Nokia Messaging, it has 4MB limit for attachments. Could you please provide a bit more information:

@Jampe
Thanks for your reponse.
It appears that it is the size of the attachment(s).
I had previously tried to send pictures by long pressing them and then selecting send (by mail).
In this case the only error that is apparent is when the email is received at the other end because it shows in the email that some attachments were not sent.
This time though, I have opened the email application and tried to add attachments and it says the limit is 2730kB (which seems very low to me). This was using Wi-Fi. I guess that 3G will be the same (it certainly will not be more)

..... Just thinking - Is this a gmail limit or a Nokia email limit?

The limit seems to be set by Nokia email, but (on my Belle N8) it is possible to attach files up to 50MB when using Exchange Activesync to access gmail. I can't remember for sure but I think it was the same with Anna.

@andy3196
Exchange activesync?
Sorry, but is that an email application that works on the N8?
I cannot find it in the Nokia Store.
I don't need 50Mb but up to say 10Mb would be nice, as it saves having to send a few pictures separately.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. It is part of the standard email app, but now I've looked back at the setup instructions, I am reminded that earlier versions called it "Mail for Exchange".
The setup instructions can be found at http://blog.wpareview.com/?p=7964
Hope that helps

@ tangerine,
If you use Exchange Active sync (Mail for Exchange), there is no defined size limit for attachments. The amount is based on available memory on the device, including SD cards inserted. For normal Nokia Messaging mailbox it should be the 4MB I mentioned. Without further investigation it's hard to say what causes the attachment limit to be 2730kB.

@Jampe
Thank you for your response and sorry for the (very) late reply.
How do I obtain Exchange Active sync (mail for exchange) on my Anna N8?
Thanks in anticipation
