N8 Belle and birthdays

Ok,  have a Nokia N8. Previously I had a 6233. 

While using the old phone, I entered the birthdays for some of the contacts. Phone was opening a reminder when one's birthday came. When I swithed to N8, I copied the agenda, and all details were copied, but I did not figured out yet how can I set the same behaviour. Any hints on this?

It doesn't seem possible. This is something i have been battling with for a while now. I don't understand why they even put it there if it won't bring up a notification for the birthday
