anybody can help me out with such freak occurence??:
I´ve been trying to connect my N8 with Pioneer VSX-1120 AV receiver via Bluetooth in order to listen to music in the phone thru my home cinema speakers..the receiver itself has Bluetooth support, which initially needs to be done by pairing the new device with it and then playing the track on N8 whereas the sound comes from HC speakers..this is the way it easily worked with my former N95..
however, as I start the pairing process, receiver waits for the new device, N8 seeks new paired device (there´s an obligatory 0000/8888 access code in the receiver), N8 eventually finds it but once I hit connect to it, the receiver says CONNECTED but the Bluetooth menu on N8 still blinks WAITING FOR ....... and doesn´t even let me type the access code..then of course I need to exit the Bluetooth menu on N8 as it is not doing anything for several minutes, just keeps blinking that waiting message..
once I get back back to Bluetooth menu on N8 again, there is the receiver as known device..I hit CONNECT on N8 and it really does say on the receiver NOKIA N8..then I try to play some mp.3 from N8 but it doesn´t even start, nor can I hear any sound in the speakers..
I did try to avoid some magnetic noise around or get N8 closer to the receiver when pairing but no effect whatsoever..
it seems pretty odd to me as this flawlessly worked with N95 or my girlfriend´s LG by this exact way..
I am also disappointed with the BH-217 headset because of the volume control. It doesnt have a volume key, and the manual says that it can be adjusted through the mobile phone. However, this isnt possible with my Samsung mobile phone. The volume in the headset is very low, and there isnt any way how to change this. I had to return it.
I'm having this same problem with my E5. The E71 that I had previously worked perfectly but unfortunately was too slow (love that phone). Controlling the BT volume from the handset is a feature that I use ALL of the time. And I really don't think that it's an issue with the device taking full control of the volume controls unless ALL of the dozens of devices that I have are control hogs. Nor do I think that it is reasonable for this issue to remain unresolved for so long. How slow are the engineers anyway? Android is looking mighty attractive right now, with their open source platform I could just fix the problem myself...
Same here. I like to listen to my music when I go to bed via Bluetooth headphones - no wires to choke me .
N8 hw and sw only give me on or off function no volume adjustment.
I am using Sony DR-BT22A with build in hw volume control but the volume does not go down enough for quiet listening.
I used the set with my old Samsung Omnia i910 and this was not an issue. Strange thing to have technology go backwards.
Come on NOKIA do something about that. Your N8 is so close to being a perfect mobile device.
Bluetooth vol control fixed with Belle update, I've been using this fix since first leak.
Not long to wait now for the official release guys!
I had the Bluetooth volume problem with my Logitech and Belkin BT adapters for music from the E7-00. Did expect it to be fixed with Belle. But sadly it was not. Other phones and computers can set BT volume but not the Nokia E7 - not even with the latest updates. Pls. fix this, Nokia!
Having just moved countries we bought a new car, it support Bluetooth streaming using A2DP.
The problem is I get a LOT of distortion when trying to listen to music because the volume transmitted by the phone is too loud. Is there a way to reduce the transmitted volume yet? I don't need control (as the car stereo can control the volume), but I need to reduce the input volume (from N8) to prevent the distortion!
Interesting. I have an N8 (Belle Refresh) and a 808 (Belle FP2) with a Carpod bluetooth mp3 adapter in my car. Volume control on the N8 doesn't work, on the 808 it works!
What some people say like just buy a proper headset just isn't true. It's an N8 problem.
I confirm that changing the volume on Symbian 3 devices, "first generation" such as N8 and actually on Nokia E6 are still not working.
We have tried now on 3 Nokia E6 devices, latest update on all (Belle Refresh) and also on one Nokia N8 with Belle refresh.
It is impossible to change the volume through the keys on the side of the phone.
On Nokia 700, 701 and 808 (also with Nokia X6, E72 and N97) it has been working since day one I think.
No problem regarding this after checking this out last 7 days...
Test has been done with;
Nokia BH-610 Essence
Not acceptable after all this time.
I have been in discussions with Nokia Sweden Support (denmark/england)
for about a 18 months regarding this matter...
to be honest ,i have noticed this problem for a rather long period, during which i did some tries.like E72,N73,E6,E52,N79 are involved my tests, which turned out that E72,N73,E6,E52 fail to adjust their volume when connecting a bluetooth audio output.while N79 manage to make it.
it's kind of wired.and from my understanding ,this problem seems more like one that can be solved by software than hardware.
there are more and more people who like to enjoy their lives as wireless as possible ,and this bug has been existing for so long .it's kind of weird.
