Hi,

I got a bit problem here. My N8 will automatically activate the POWER SAVING MODE once the phone battery goes low. I've set the power saver mode query to "ON" so that the phone will ask wether to activate the power saving mode or not. When I choose "NO" the phone will automatically turn the power saving mode in the background without displaying an icon (the battery icon will appears as a "moon"). The big clock screen saver is set to NONE, the theme effects switch to "OFF" and the light time out will change from 30 seconds (default) to only 5 seconds.

Any idea or help? ThanX!

Hmm. It might be a bug not recognizing ur selection , I have not yet encountered such issue with n8 on the boards but it does not surprise me that this is the case. Hopefully next uodate will fix those issues. Sorry mate

Not sure if this helps but the suggestion in the manual if power saving is acitvated and you want to switch it off is to press the on/off button briefly and then change the power saving settings there. Haven't yet had a chance to use it, so don't know whether this helps.

Why do so many people seem to dislike the power saving mode? I've seen it referred too as the "dreaded" power saving mode in some articles!
When activated you can still call and text, plus you can still use the internet and email!?

Deactivate the Power Saver Mode via the power key is not working as well. The phone shows that the POWER SAVING MODE DEACTIVATED but the settings still don't change to normal. So far, this was the biggest problem with my N8. I really hope that the upcoming firmware of the N8 will address this issue.

The only way I found to de-activate the POWER SAVING MODE, is to switch off the phone wait a few seconds before switching it back on, at which time you will be given the option to "deactivate the POWER SAVING MODE?" When you sat 'yes'. it worked for me.

Earlier options to "deactivate POWER SAVING MODE" without switching off the phone, but when I put the phone on charge, didnt work.

Mine too doesn't actually get back to full power mode despite the battery not showing the moon anymore. It would seem an unreversable status once activated. At least The power saving on demand works, instead.

Before Belle update I could have battery saving mode and 3G connections which permitted skype calls. With Belle seems not be able to have 3G and battery saving at the same time.

Any clue of a workaround ?

You just slightly push the top button (switch on/off) and you will see the menu.
