Hi there.
In this forum is a sticky post regarding the "suicide" hard reset and about lost core software/funcionality like Ovi Store etc.

Has this issue been resolved by later firmware updates? I did this suicide hard reset under Anna and afterwards I was still able to use Ovi Store. My device was manufactured in the middle of the year 2011.
After I did the 'three-fingered suicide' reset I updated the Firmware to Belle. Everything is fine. The only difference I can see is that there is no more Operator Logo of my Provider at bootup. :-)
And also the Autoplay Window which appears after the Nokia N8 gets connected to the PC is now unbranded. :-) I wonder why. Can it be, that the Belle Firmware for my branded device (with a seperated Product-Code for the Operater) has been changed to unbrand the device? There are only three Wallpapers of the operator (my provider) on my device. That's it.
F-Secure is also included into the latest Belle Firmware, but is it only for 30 days for free. I wonder why this Software has been included to the Belle Firmware.
How can I uninstall F-Secure which will stop working after 30 days? I get error messages if i try to uninstall.
Is with the latest Belle Firmware everything sorted out and can I do the 'three-fingered suicide' without losing core files?

@Naumi
With regards to F-Secure have a look at this thread:/t5/Software-Updates/F-Secure-coming-with-Belle-Ho
Concerning Belle update there have been operator version anomalies as Tesco (UK) which was one of the last released has Virgin Mobile icon which is MVNO for T-Mobile whilst Tesco is MVNO for o2!
Referring to three key depressed power on hard reset a recent Belle FP1 device survived with no issues, although as all media content upon E:\ Mass meory was lost I had device subsequently re-furbished to return to "Out of box" state.

I have only Belle .609 without the Feature Pack 1. What does re-furbished means here? Did you use the Nokia Care Suite?

@Naumi
Forgive me if I don't answer this question directly or elaborate as discussion of such software applications upon this forum would be moderated; you are however technically correct in the assumption that you have made.

I @#$%% up my N8 / Belle, by doing the "suicide three finger" thingy. ![]()
Even checking for Software Update's is not possible anymore through the menu. "Connection failed" when phone is connected to the internet. ![]()
Error message directly after boot up. ![]()
Ovi Store gone. ![]()
Maps and so on, everything gone. ![]()
F-Secure also gone. ![]()
Under "Already installed" nothing is listed. *#7370# doesn't solves the issues.
I f@#$%% up my Belle phone by pressing some buttons.
I'm a lucky fish that this device didn't explode... LOL
Phone Memory C: has now 241.8 MB available. Wow, I'm impressed how you can increase the memory. Maybe that's the reason why the "Three Finger Suicide" has been implemented by Nokia Engineers to get rid off unwanted stuff like trial software (F-Secure)?
