So I updated my N8 to Anna recently, it had iplayer before the update but doesnt have it after, the ovi store does not list iplayer and accessing iplayer via the web says  that the phone is not supported.

How do I get iplayer on my N8 running Anna.

I'm in the Uk on the T-Mobile network if that matters.

For some reason the BBC iPlayer has been removed from the Nokia Store for the N8.

The way around it is to connect your N8 to your PC via Nokia Suite.

Change your phone in the store to a different earlier phone for example 5800xm. (The top bar will display 'Get apps for your N8 - change or remove, click on change and find the relevant phone)

Search for iplayer (I've included a link to the 5800xm version of the iPlayer).

Install this file on you N8 the usual way. Although it will probably say that the app in not compatible, believe me it is. It works on my N8 perfectly well.

On opening the app you will be able to stream tv shows/movies either 3g or WLAN however you will not be able to save the movies on your phone to watch later due to licence issues.

To get around this visit this thread,

You will notice a 12kb sis file by sivhead. Download this on your PC (with phone connected), open it and it should install automatically through Nokia Suite onto your N8.

This will give allow you to save the movies for watching at your leisure (until the licence runs out obviously).

There is no Widget for iPlayer, however if you go back into the thread above, go to the 6th page, you will find a post from rayhikiss which allows you to install the widget if you wish to do so.

No worries, it always seems to happen with longer posts needing a bit of researching; if you spot this quickly enough you can delete your own contribution before others accuse you of spamming.

Don't know upon what device you are having issues, but full programme downloads continue to work on the Symbian^3 range (N8, E7, etc.), even under Belle OS and have just installed to E6-00 Belle device.
