I can no longer find the prestigious N8 photo editor and video editor in the menu after Belle refresh. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this what should happen or is there a problem with my device?

Photo and Video editors should be preserved during the update. Do you get them back if you reinstall the phone sw with Nokia Suite?

I can't find them as well as you.

I just wanted to say that I just fixed my similar issue after having a live chat with Nokia support (thanks Kenny!). I can once again edit photos. Basically, backup your files and then reinstall your software using Nokia Suite. I hope this helps. If anything, contact Nokia Support for assistance and they should help you out.

How do i reinstall? Nokia suite does not give me the usual option "reinstall the software" !!!!!

Do you have the text below in Nokia Suite when entering the Software updates menu (with "reinstall" text underlined to launch the reinstallation):
"Your phone has the software version 111.040.1511 installed. If you have a problem with your phone, you can reinstall the software"

That's exactly what I'm referring to. Nokia Suite only says "Your phone has the software version 111.040.1511 installed" and ends there. No option to reinstall....! I'm now wondering if I got the complete update since I did it OTA, not from Nokia suite.

OTA update should not delete the photo and video editors. Could you, please, check the product code of your phone.

Could you let us know how you did your hard reset?
If by any other means then the code *#7370# You likely used a reset which is reserved for Nokia Care Centres.
This reset is used to get a phone back on when it won't start normally. This reset may remove a number of files from the device which are not installed by the updates available to you as an end user of the device and this may leave your device unstable or non functional.
In this case you'd have to visit a Nokia Care Point where the device can be rewritten at lower level including these files. This will completely erase all content from the device so make sure you have a backup of your personal data made in Nokia Suite before you do this.
Press the 'Accept As Solution' icon if I have solved your problem, click on the Star Icon below if my advice has helped you!

Hi pj98. My product code is 0599399. From MTN South Africa.
Photo & video editor are still absent. Still cannot reinstall.

Thanks, Analyst. Do you recall if you have performed the "3-finger" hard reset in your device which would have wiped out these apps?

In your case, if you can't find the "reinstall" option in Nokia Suite, you may need to take the phone to care point for reflashing to get the apps back. It's, however, worth checking first in Nokia Suite if the "reinstall" option has come back there.

@ pj98: the "reinstall" option has come back. I dont know what I must have done, just saw it back. It has not helped me much though, because phone now disconnects from the laptop after nokia suite downloaded and begins the upgrade.
@ Lakshya: My problem here has got nothing to do with the video player. It is the absence of the photo and video EDITOR which I am concerned with. I do not see how to link it with that post and what to say in it.
