N8 software update not working

Hello, I have just installed new software on my N8 (on 08/10/11). It was 022.014 software. Aside from the fact the new look/style is not great, the internet search icon does not work. I have no way now of getting on-line! This is a problem. My question is - can I uninstall this new software and re-install the older, reliable one (which was the one from new.)

 No, you cannot go back to PR1.2.

Did you install the additional Applications 1/2 & 2/2 updates?
