Could not connect my home wlan, although accespoint's security settings are set to totally open system.
Connection worked when I turned wireless mac-filter on and added mobile wlan mac-address.
Turned security settings back to wpa2->Still working...

i think i have the same issue with you guys...
i'm not sure if there was any final take on this but none of the solutions provided ever worked for me. i think this specific type of issue did not come from belle as i was able to connect thru any wifi connection available, using belle, in the past. it's just that i reset the factory settings due to lack of phone memory space and then this became the aftermath. some functions were restored with some updates available, though. i'm not sure how else i can fix this with the resources available to me now.
issue: n8 sees wifi availability, connects to it, but connection status is inactive, browser returns false and all else fails.

HI I too faced an WIFI issue with my NOKIA 500 belle.
I have created an adhoc WEP or WPA network from my laptop(wifi hotspot) to connect mobile to internet. Suddenly today i was unable to access internet through my laptop wifi. I tried re-creating ad-hoc network on my laptop but still no use.Even rebooting the mobile was of no use.
But curiously when i cleared the the data counters from LOG menu the WIFI connection started working properly!
The counters had the following value 'All Sent Data : 948 MB and 'All Received data : 3.97 GB) before clearing
Has anyone experienced this!

Im Also having this problem ever since i got my phone back from o2 repair, sent it in cause my usb socket wasnt connecting properly, they apparently replaced the entire circuit board as well as updating all the software although i keep it upto date anyway.
Before i sent my phone off i used to get 2/3 bars wifi coverage all over my home and no problems using it now i get 1/3 and it keeps dropping out.
Have tested and i can ping my n8 with a reply. then i lose the connection after a few seconds

This is what worked for me. Try and access the web, failed with no mobile data connection. Click on the button on the bottom right for the context menu and get to general. Change access point from the ISP's to "ask when needed".

reading the whole discussions says it is not possible with some of the posted ideas
so do we have any APPLICATION which keeps the wifi connection alive??
alike 'Keep Alive' for Lumia windows phones???

TatoArg wrote:Do this: Menu - Settings - Connectivity - WiFi - Options - Settings - Energy saving - OFF. That is the solution to the problem of WiFi with Nokia Belle
The above worked also for me. Thank you ![]()
