N8 won't charge or start

I've noticed a lot of nokia n8's with the same problem, except their all new devices, mine is an older device, 12 months I've had it and it's not starting up or charging etc, recently there's a crack been made and I can't help thinking it's because of the crack but I believe it's not big enough to cause a problem. Help?
